Selman Stermasi - The man that gave everything for SK Tirana.

Selman Stermasi, passionate, addicted to sport returned in homeland on 1930s after finishing studies in Roma for Physical Culture. Vigorous and indefatigable he gathers friends and mates addicted to sport and leads the sport’s drift SK Tirana. In these years SK Tirana collects many titles of national championship. It won six championships from seven. The contribution of Selman Stermasi is extraordinary in these titles. He is stupendous not only as a footballer but also as trainer and manger of club, together with the others names as: A.Karapici, Sh. Ndroqi, I. Dashi, Xh.Kashari, S. Lleshi, H. Begeja, H. Korça, M. Petrela, A. Hobdari, R. Gurashi, I. Gjinali, F. Janku, Riza Lushta, Naim Kryeziu, etc.


Selman Stermasi was the man with contemporary culture and with great organization capability. He was initiator and organizer of the first football market of SK Tirana, N. Kryeziu and R. Lushta signed regular contracts with known Italian clubs as: Bari and Roma and after this Riza Lushta begun to play with FC Juventus team, Naim Kryeziu with colors of AC Roma in 1942 which was declared champion of Italy. Although after 1944, his capability and activity were disclaimed from dictatorial regime, Selman Stermasi has been and continues to be one of the most known personality not only in SK Tirana, but also in Albanian Football among years.

"Selman Stermasi" is also, the name of the home stadium for SK Tirana (capacity 10.000).

At last the name of this foremost personality of Albanian football has taken deserved place. The stadium was given his name “Selman Stermasi” due to the insistence of the well-wishers, funs, headship of FK Tirana, Tirana association and in collaboration with Municipal., His work, effort and contribution has never been forgotten, although loads of years has passed.
