When adding links to material on external sites, as you did to Chemtrail conspiracy theory, please ensure that the external site is not violating the creator's copyright. Linking to websites that display copyrighted works is acceptable as long as the website's operator has created or licensed the work. Knowingly directing others to a site that violates copyright may be considered contributory infringement. This is particularly relevant when linking to sites such as YouTube, where due care should be taken to avoid linking to material that violates its creator's copyright. Misplaced Pages takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you believe the linked site is not violating copyright with respect to the material, then you should do one of the following:
- If the linked site is the copyright holder, leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page;
- If a note on the linked site credibly claims permission to host the material, or a note on the copyright holder's site grants such permission, leave a note on the article Talk page with a link to where we can find that note;
- If you are the copyright holder or the external site administrator, adjust the linked site to indicate permission as above and leave a note on the article Talk page;
If the material is available on a different site that satisfies one of the above conditions, link to that site instead. If this is true, then obviously it will have been reported in sources that you can link to without copyvio, eg mainstream newspapers (German is ok, but obviously a major story like this would have been reported in the English language press). COPYVIO AGAIN
You reinserted the same copyright violating YouTube videos. Continue to do this and you will be blocked to protect Misplaced Pages. It has also been noted on the talk page that the translations of these videos are inaccurate and misleading. Dougweller (talk) 06:46, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
I am sure that YOUTUBE knows MORE THAN YOU about copyright violations, so the simple fact that those videos exists and are accepted ob YouTube for more than a year, proves you wrong. The material I added is linked to a VERIFIABLE source. A TV NEWS story. Accordingly to Section 107 of the copyright law, "fair use for nonprofit educational purposes", the video material taken from MAINSTREAM GERMAN MEDIA (again, recorded accordingly to Section 107 of the copyright law) is cited as a reference and furthermore IT EXISTS outside Misplaced Pages on a 3rd party server, YOUTUBE, that apparently DOESN'T think that it violates copyright laws. Do you speak German? NO! So before assessing the material, learn proper German. 29/05/2012
- See the talkpage for discussion of the material relating to chemtrail conspiracy theory. The translations you allege are disputed and misleading. The youtube links to copyrighted material aren't acceptable for Misplaced Pages just because they remain there, and fair use by proxy is an unconvincing argument. You're verging on edit-warring, and I am troubled by the translation issues that have been pointed out. Acroterion (talk) 15:05, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
