Many of the articles we have contain guns and gun incidents. Although some of these will influence in gun politics and firearms law others will not, and to varying degrees. Articles should not become coatracks. Inclusions should have due weight.
Do's
Include sentences such as: 'This incident has led to more debate on gun control and gun laws.' and 'People closed there curtains and went out less.' In a 'reactions' section.
Don'ts
Misplaced Pages is not a newspaper. Sources may claim that the article subject will effect laws but until it does then avoid speculative material such as :'This will happen very soon.
Other things to consider
When a crime is involved with named suspects see crime. Persons are presumed innocent and should be treated as such until convicted or aquitted.
