The Texas Chansaw Massacre: The Beginning is a prequel to New Line Cinema's 2003 film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The movie is currently filming in Texas and will be released on October 6, 2006 in North America. The film is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay. The movie will be set 3 years before the remake.

Plot

On one last road trip before they're sent to serve in Vietnam, two brothers and their girlfriends get into an accident that calls their local sheriff to the scene. Thus begins a terrifying experience where the teens are taken to a secluded house of horrors, where a young, would-be killer is being nurtured.

Trivia

  • It Previously had the subtitle The Origin.
  • Takes place 3 years before the events of the remake.
  • The film is currently in post-production, and will be released in October '06
  • Some of the actors from the remake will have cameos in this film.
  • New Line had to pay $3 million more than it expected to in order to keep the franchise in the studio fold after Dimension Films made a pricey deal with original rights holders.
  • In March 2006, it was reported that the new Guns N' Roses will put a cover of the Faith No More song "Be Aggressive" for inclusion on the movies soundtrack.
