Hyde bus station in Hyde, Greater Manchester serves as a bus terminus for 11 bus services and as a major stop for 4 bus services in the Greater Manchester area. It was opened in 2007 and was built on the site of the old bus station for Hyde. The station is managed by Transport for Greater Manchester.
On the other side of the wall on one side of the bus station, the M67 motorway goes past.
History
Hyde bus station opened many years ago, and had lots of services to nearby areas of Greater Manchester, just like it does now. However, many reports of the old bus station will say the shelters were very draughty.
In 2005 the new bus station was built by Sisk building contractors for £3.7 million, and is now entirely different, with an indoor structure with a Travelshop and cafe, seated waiting areas and computer screens displaying departures.
Services
There are several services that use Hyde Bus Station. The majority of services are run by Stagecoach Manchester with the remainder of services run by Checkmate Transport, First Manchester, JPT and Stotts.
There are frequent buses running to Ashton-under-Lyne, Belle Vue, Denton, Dukinfield, Godley, Hattersley, Manchester and Stockport. Buses also run to Glossop, Marple, Mottram, Oldham and Stalybridge
