Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- The Five Pillars of Misplaced Pages
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Merging, redirecting, and renaming pages
- If you're ready for the complete list of Misplaced Pages documentation, there's also Misplaced Pages:Topical index.
Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.
Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

P.S. I like messages :-P
- Thanks for the greetings. I've been trying to get the knack of the site, but have been busy working on my prelims for my doctorate to do too much. I try to get what I can get in first, and try to get back on making it "pretty", as it were, later. Thanks for the links.
Order of the amaranth
I have now deleted the Order of the amaranth duplicate page, which I found by accident. In future, please use {{db|You'r reason for deletion}} to request a quick deletion of a page. You should read Misplaced Pages:Criteria for speedy deletion at some point for more details. Have fun with Misplaced Pages! jni 12:27, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I'm still learning the mechanics of Misplaced Pages, so thanks for the tip.

Thanks...
...for reverting the Coulter pictures. Now go back and add the fact that she is a constitutional attorney. I have used my 3RR for the day, and can't. At the talk page, I am having to argue that she is one, even though 1] she is broadly referred to as one across the spectrum of the media, and 2] no one outside of WP seems to be disputing it. paul klenk 12:43, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
- Sure thing. 0922 EST, 2 September 2005
I encourage you to also remove the new "dubious tags." What a load of.... paul klenk 13:52, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

Comics Collaboration of the Fortnight
As a member of WikiProject Comics, I thought you might be interested in the Comics Collaboration of the Fortnight we have set up. Please feel free to vote on the articles listed, although bear in mind that a vote for a particular article means you are pledging to help improve the article. The goal of the collaboration is to improve articles to Featured Article status, as we feel Comics is under-represented in that area. Thanks for your help. 3rr
I am leaving this same message on the talk page of both User:Bedford and User:Slobad. Please be aware of the three revert rule, or 3rr. A cursory glance at Homeland's history shows that you both broke the rule. I don't see that the changes by either side were simple vandalism, so there is no exception there. It looks like things have calmed down now, and I don't see that anything would be gained by reporting it. In the future, when the reverts are flying like that, please try and stay calm, and discuss the changes on talk, or at the magic wikiproject. You'll find that it's more constructive. WP:COOL is a good read, it's about staying cool when the editing gets hot. Thanks. -- Norvy (talk) 20:36, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
- I knew about the rule, and kept it in mind. I was careful not to do more than 3 of mine own during a calendar day.--Bedford 20:38, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Lord Alfred Hayes.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Lord Alfred Hayes.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Misplaced Pages (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Misplaced Pages:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Secretlondon 17:01, 12 October 2005 (UTC)

The Military history WikiProject Newsletter Issue I - March 2006 | |
|
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Military history WikiProject's newsletter! We hope that this new format will help members—especially those who may be unable to keep up with some of the rapid developments that tend to occur—find new groups and programs within the project that they may wish to participate in. Please consider this inital issue to be a prototype; as always, any comments and suggestions are quite welcome, and will help us improve the newsletter in the coming months. Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Rationales to impeach George W. Bush (2nd nomination)
You are invited to vote at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Rationales to impeach George W. Bush (2nd nomination). All this is is ramblings/blog/rants about Bush. Not encyclopedic, should've been deleted long ago. Happy editing! Morton devonshire 20:56, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
