Yoshiaki Omura, MD, ScD is the principal proponent of a form of applied kinesiology known as the Bi-Digital O-Ring Test, a form of pseudo-science.

Portraying his teachings and researches as alternative medicine, Dr Omura holds the position of Chief Medical Researcher of the Heart Disease Research Foundation, and as President and Founder of the International College of Acupuncture and Electro-Therapeutics.

Dr Omura claims in his publications in Acupuncture & Electro-Therapeutics Research, The International Journal, the organ of the International College of Acupuncture & Electro-Therapeutics of which he is Editor in Chief, and in his seminars as sanctioned by the American Medical Association for credit as Continuing Medical Education, as well as by the University of the State of New York, State Education Department, that he is able, via the Bi-Digital O-Ring Test, to diagnose innumerable illnesses, and to prescribe treatment for them. These illnesses include, according to Dr Omura’s publications in Acupuncture & Electro-Therapeutics Research, The International Journal, cancer, dementia, and many others. Dr Omura’s recent publications provide putative evidence for the efficacy of Special Solar Energy Stored Paper in which the special healing power of the sun may be captured and stored on pieces of paper such as index cards, then applied to certain critical acupuncture points, thus rendering a speedy and efficacious cure as evidenced by the Bi-Digital O-Ring Test.

The Annual International Symposium on Acupuncture & Electro-Therapeutics has for many years been hosted at the School of International and Public Affairs of Columbia University.
