Manatee Palms Youth Services is a 60-bed psychiatric hospital in Bradenton, Florida, and a subsidiary of for-profit Psychiatric Solutions.

Profile

The hospital is an Intensive Residential Treatment Facility accredited with TJC and Medicaid. Manatee Palms Youth Services (MPYS) is a Level IV Intensive Residential Treatment Facility (IRTF). Manatee Palms Youth Services is also a Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP) Provider. MPYS has short and long term care (average length of stay is 3 to 12 months) and offers individualized treatment planning in a structured and secure setting.

MPYS offers specialized programming for male and females ages 5-17. They have a co-ed, children’s program unit, ages 5-12 with specialized treatment and incentive plans with a trauma-informed care approach. They also have a general psychiatric boy’s unit, ages 13-17 with a trauma-informed care approach. Furthermore, MPYS has a specialized unit for girls, ages 13-17 specializing in Trauma-Informed Care.

History

Manatee Palms Youth Services, Leader in Trauma Informed Care, received the 2008 Louis de La Parte Florida Mental Health Institute’s Dave Guymon Trauma Champion Award. Manatee Palms is a residential treatment facility specializing in Trauma Informed Care for the treatment of children and adolescents suffering from psychiatric, behavioral and emotional disorders. Manatee Palms is a 60 bed facility, located on 9 acres in Bradenton, FL conveniently located between Tampa and Sarasota.
