Congo is the name of:

• The Congo River in central Africa.
• The basin of that river. The Congo and its subsidiaries run through the second largest rain forest area in the world, only the Amazon Rainforest being (much) larger. See: Congo River basin.
• In Vodun, a rather dull and lazy spirit was named Congo.
• A novel by Michael Crichton. For the book, see Congo (novel).

There are also two countries in Africa both named Congo, after the river:

• Republic of the Congo - Congo/Brazzaville, the smaller one in the west.
• Democratic Republic of the Congo - formerly Zaire - Congo/Kinshasa, the larger one in the east. See also: Congo Free State.
