Revision as of 00:54, 4 June 2004 by Template namespace initialisation script (talk | contribs)(diff) ← Previous revision | Latest revision (diff) | Newer revision → (diff)Congo is the name of:
- The Congo River in central Africa.
- The basin of that river. The Congo and its subsidiaries run through the second largest rain forest area in the world, only the Amazon Rainforest being (much) larger. See: Congo River basin.
- In Vodun, a rather dull and lazy spirit was named Congo.
- A novel by Michael Crichton. For the book, see Congo (novel).
There are also two countries in Africa both named Congo, after the river:
- Republic of the Congo - Congo/Brazzaville, the smaller one in the west.
- Democratic Republic of the Congo - formerly Zaire - Congo/Kinshasa, the larger one in the east. See also: Congo Free State.
