Template talk:Infobox Schuylkill Navy

FYI, no real need to tag a template talk page with {{db-g8}} when the template itself is up for deletion. When an admin clicks the "Delete" button for the template (or article, or category, or whatever page that's not a talk page), a window appears that says basically "Hey, this page had a talk page; should it be deleted too?". It also provides a link to the talk page and a way to see the talk page's contents without leaving the deletion screen. All this is to say: don't do more than you want to. There's definitely nothing wrong with tagging the talk page this way, but you shouldn't feel obligated. Nyttend (talk) 01:08, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Template:DRC Gizenga Cabinet I etc.

You will see I have undone changes you made on four of these templates. A change that has such a drastic visual effect should be discussed first. With lists like these cases a columnar format is the most convenient for the reader, letting them quickly scan down the column to find the entry that they are looking for. Removing the formatting makes it much harder to read, without any corresponding benefit. Aymatth2 (talk) 03:34, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

I thought dfn lists were more accessible than tables for formatting, but apparently you feel otherwise. Since you cited accessibility for your reason for reverting, I have started a thread here. Frietjes (talk) 16:56, 11 October 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing those Judge Dredd articles, they look good. Richard75 (talk) 13:30, 13 October 2012 (UTC)

Hanoi / Tonkin

Hi, I've made a change to {{Dutch colonies}}, as I noticed the linked article in the template seemed to be incorrect—Tonkin was a region of Vietnam, and Hanoi was its capital. They are related, but the wikilink on the template should point to the article that its text indicates. I've also removed the template from Hanoi and placed it onto Tonkin, to go along with my change. Let me know if the link on the template should be to Hanoi instead, and I'll be glad to correct my changes. Cheers! --dragfyre_ʞןɐʇc 17:10, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

yes, you are correct (as far as I can tell). Frietjes (talk) 17:12, 15 October 2012 (UTC)

Infobox Chatham Cup

Nice work! Do you want to finish substituting it? It looks like it is nearly a simple substitution, but there are a few tweaks. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ 04:33, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Family Law Template

Thanks for moving that from it's own page to a sandbox type page to discuss changes. I did not know one could use the sandbox feature in that way. /cheers --West Horizon (talk) 18:47, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

I just wanted to thank you for this edit. I just noticed it, and it only took me two months to actually notice. :P  Chickenmonkey  08:23, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Template dispute over {{!-}}

I wonder if we should open a RfC over the dispute that's going on over here? I initially thought that there was no dispute over it then after I checked the user's talk page, boom... --Marianian 20:29, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

I would say the TfD would be the best place to discuss it at the moment. Frietjes (talk) 20:34, 28 October 2012 (UTC)

Template:World topic problems

Hi, I wanted to ask your help with the code on the World topic template. See Template:World topic/testcases#Examples, because when you try to use the template with the "category" namespace, it causes errors with Georgia (country) and Ivory Coast. The "Asia topic" and "Africa topic" templates do not produce the same errors. Would you be able to fix the World topic template for us? The World topic template is useful on category pages to find out which countries still need categories. Thanks much! --Funandtrvl (talk) 20:43, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

fixed. Frietjes (talk) 20:54, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! --Funandtrvl (talk) 20:57, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Template

Seeing as the one editor who had a vendetta against the template for whatever reason decided to disappear from the issue altogether I'd assumed the issue had died and nothing needed to be done. Mabuska 13:30, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

I also still think it aesthetically fails in regards to the derivation. Mabuska 13:32, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
your last word on the subject was this, which seems to be approval. so, thank you? or, your welcome? Frietjes (talk) 14:57, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

International football

Please look at {{International football}} whether your reversion is legitimate to call, or should i say your reversion is valid? Only your one opinion can change something without waiting my reply? Then i can say it is bias to be, because you never discuss at all. At last, you warning me? I can say you involved in editing dispute also. --Aleenf1 16:17, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

so far you have two editors who disagree with you, and zero who agree with you. your position at this point should be using the talk page, rather than engaging in an edit war. as for the warning, it's required before I can request that you are blocked. Frietjes (talk) 16:19, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
They are no rules that say i should use talk page if people disagree. Why international football can and why field hockey cannot, it seems you have bias in judgement. I'm refer and fix, that is not edit war, indeed you reverted three times without discussion that involve me, at all. When i reply, you did not do so. --Aleenf1 16:27, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
see WP:3RR, you have basically broken it with 4 reverts. I would say you should be very careful at this point. Frietjes (talk) 16:34, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
It seems I'm not, as I'm insist, I'm just refer and fix, and you no need to request admin to block me, but i will bring the matter to admin that you FAILED to discuss on our editing dispute because something that can stay in other template and why are not in this field hockey template. At the last, we involve in editing dispute and you failed to discuss and just revert. You no need to warning me. --Aleenf1 16:40, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

Templates for rail vehicles

Hello Frietjes;
It would be useful if the following templates, Template:Infobox German railway vehicle#Parameters valid for all vehicles, Template:Infobox locomotive, Template:Infobox train and Template:Infobox locomotive would have the same, or equivalent, parameters, though not necessarily in the same order. In my perambulations I have also noted that some users seem to have never heard about "copy and paste". In addition many users are so technologically challenged that they don't realize that "catenary" is not a collection method, but that pantograph and/or contact shoe are. Please see my comments at delightful nonsense. Peter Horn User talk 19:01, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Links that make no sense

The links in 1.6 km/(h⋅s) (0.99 mph/s) make NO sense. Can you fix that? Peter Horn User talk 00:49, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

those templates are fully protected, but I have posted a request here. Frietjes (talk) 14:38, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Perhaps as sections under metre per second squared and foot per second squared respectively? Peter Horn User talk 19:35, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Sidebar and font size

Hi. My edit summary concerning Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Accessibility/Navigation menu was incorrect. The problems seems to be that the sidebar template reduces the size of text. A navigation menu is a central part of the page. Especially in a WikiProject page. I'd like to keep the font size to normal. Should I wrap the template with a code that enlarge the text size slightly? I'd rather ask fo the sidebar template to be modified though. Dodoïste (talk) 19:50, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

I added a font-size declaration to the bodystyle line. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ 22:09, 4 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Plastikspork. :-) Dodoïste (talk) 22:15, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

Template:Infobox monument

Hi, re these two edits: these go part way to fixing the problem described at Template talk:Infobox monument#Recent rewrite: feature lost but unfortunately you've not used the previous parameter names, so there are almost certainly articles that are still broken. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:57, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

partially fixed, we probably shouldn't bother to fix map_cue and map_text. Frietjes (talk) 20:14, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Thank you --Redrose64 (talk) 20:45, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

{{Fb rbr position}}

Hi, I just spotted that you modified {{Fb rbr position}} back in June and the changes make the colouring of cells incorrect. The change appears to have fixed the 3 relegation cells as 18, 19 and 20 rather than the last 3 cells of the set. For example for a 24 team league the coloured cells should be 22, 23 & 24. Keith D (talk) 13:52, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

the template was never able to automatically determine the numbers for the last 3 cells, which is why editors felt compelled to make {{Fb3 rbr position}} and others. there is {{Fb rbr position fl}} which has the feature to set the relegation position. I will modify {{Fb rbr position}} to add a similar feature. Frietjes (talk) 16:26, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for taking a look. Looks like the extra parameter has not been added to all of the existing uses of the template then Keith D (talk) 17:01, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
if the relegation position is 18, then no extra parameter is necessary. the old version of the template had 18 as the relegation position, which is why this is still the default. Frietjes (talk) 17:03, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
