The Security Industry Association is an American trade association which represents "the business interests of manufacturers, service providers and integrators of electronic physical security equipment". It is based in Silver Spring, Maryland.
The association's mission includes marketing, standards-setting and research and development. It sponsors the ISC West and ISC East trade expositions with Reed Exhibitions, a subsidiary of Reed Business Information.
In 2010, the association and the security industry were managing to recover from the late-2000s economic downturn and, among other specifics, addressing emerging international market in reports it published for the China and Brazil markets.
In April 2011, Richard Chace resigned as the chief executive officer and executive director. Chief operating officer Rand Price took over temporarily. Gordon Hope of Honeywell, chairman of the association's board of directors' executive committee, said the resignation had been mutually agreed and that a search committee for a replacement had been formed.
