Hi YOLO Swag -- per the eligibility criteria for the 2012 Arbitration Committee Elections, you need to include in your statement (1) a disclosure of all prior and alternate accounts and (2) a statement that you are willing to identify to the Foundation, should you be elected.
Thanks and best regards, Lord Roem (talk) 20:49, 22 November 2012 (UTC)
- Please also note that I recoreded Misplaced Pages:Mediation Committee/Nominations/Freestyle.king and Misplaced Pages:Mediation Committee/Nominations/Bonafide.hustla, as these are part of your record and voters should have every right to see these; however, I also added a footnote which should hopefully prevent predudice against you due to the re-use of these names by a known troll. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 21:42, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
This was inappropriate
YOLO, this is an inappropriately aggressive and attack-y diatribe to leave on the talk page of anyone, let alone someone on a wikibreak. I see that it's been reverted, but I wanted to make sure that you knew that accusations of malfeasance belong, neutrally-worded and backed up with diffs, on the relevant noticeboard. If you cannot word it neutrally or support it with evidence, do not bring it onwiki. Just plopping a pile of accusations onto someone's talk with no evidence but tons of of name-calling is not something anyone here should be doing, and continuing to do it can be construed as a personal attack. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 23:37, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oh I have tons of evidence both on-wiki and off-wiki that prove my post was NOT a diatribe but facts.--YOLO Swag (talk) 00:14, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- Well, like I said: If you have evidence that someone did something, you need to provide it. You cannot just loudly offer your opinion on whether the evidence would prove something, if you were to present it, which you won't. Continuing to cast aspersions while being unwilling to offer the evidence in an appropriate venue is a no-go. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 00:30, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- You are more than welcomed to e-mail me for evidence. I just highly doubt you would be interested. You are also free to peruse my Q&A on my arbcom candidacy page for evidence. I'm not making stuff up out of thin air.--YOLO Swag (talk) 00:34, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- Yolo, that was way over the line and must be struck or reverted. It is one thing to present evidence of a wrongdoing, but making an accusation like this without substantiated it is the very definition of a personal attack and is unacceptable for anyone to do. Saying you will email someone evidence isn't acceptable as substantiation. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 01:00, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- He already removed it even though he claims to be on break. Do you want me to publicly post the evidence or not? The stealth canvassing evidence is apparently on a Misplaced Pages blacksite so I can't post them here.--YOLO Swag (talk) 01:04, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- What I want you to do is act consistent with our policy on personal attacks and civility, the same as I ask from anyone. You aren't "special" or held to any different standard here. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 01:06, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- Ok I never ask for special privilege from anyone. That's the whole point of my own ArbCom candidacy. All I'm asking is not to be selectively persecuted when people are making personal attacks against me on their voters guides. One of the reasons I came back to Misplaced Pages this year is Sven Manguard couldn't seem to keep my name out of his mouth almost one year after he drove me away from the project and continue to call me a "troll" in the election Rfc (Misplaced Pages:Requests_for_comment/Arbitration_Committee_Elections_December_2012#Statement_by_User:Sven_Manguard), his voter guide (he use it as a soapbox), and accused me of having sockpuppets without any evidence (Misplaced Pages:Sockpuppet_investigations/NWA.Rep/Archive_. Other admins such as Bishonen have told him repeatedly that my candidacies are serious. I would rather let bygones be bygones so I could focus on my ArbCom candidacy but you are more than welcomed to e-mail me to discuss this matter further.--YOLO Swag (talk) 01:14, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think it would be appropriate for me to use an email as a basis for administrative action in this case. Looking at Sven's guide, he substantiates his claims, and the only incivil comment is the use of the word troll. Not a word I would prefer to use myself in an election guide, I will admit. The proper reaction would be to either ignore it, politely ask him to modify it, or contact of the people admin'ing the election itself, like User:Mbisanz, and after you've tried those two, if you can't find resolution, WP:ANI. Escalating the situation and doing something that is even more offensive is not a proper or acceptable response. You don't do yourself any favors when you don't use the very resolution methods that end with office you are currently seeking to hold. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 01:27, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- I have asked multiple guide writers to remove it but they refused --YOLO Swag (talk) 01:32, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- And I've given you the path you need to follow to get resolution in the dispute, you need to ask the people handling the election first, then ANI if you can't get resolution in a day or two. Nothing moves instantly around here, as you know, but we have to use the system that is in place, in that order. This is the exact same thing I have to do, even with the admin bit, I'm just asking you to do the same. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 01:41, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- The advice I got from my dear friend Bishonen, who I trust more than anyone on here, is to "rise above and ignore" a few days ago and that's exactly what I plan to do because I don't want to give them any extra ammo to sabotage my candidacy like last year.--YOLO Swag (talk) 01:47, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- That was the first option I listed as well. I think Bishonen is giving you good advice, and I would expect nothing less from her. Overlooking isn't easy, but it is the best solution. Making personal attacks will reflect poorly on you, and can force the hand of uninvolved admin like myself, something I don't savor. My desire is a drama-free election that reflects the will of the community, which I assume is yours as well. Since we seem to be on the same page, I will leave you alone and just wish you luck in the election. Dennis Brown - 2¢ © Join WER 01:57, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
