His boxing record is 26-2 (12 KOs). He is the former WBA welterweight champion. On May 13, 2006, he lost the title to Ricky Hatton on a close unanimous decision. Collazo was knocked down in the 1st round. Thereafter, the fight was close, with Hatton having the style and power advantage in the early rounds. Collazo appeared to capture the many of the rounds in the 2nd half of the fight. And Hatton hurt and wobbled in the middle of the final round.
