About me? I was promoted to join in at Wikiville and work to address the systemic bias and even abuse of Wiki through Advocacy Editing (Editing which either deliberately or unwittingly promotes a term over the concept and skews reality).

I have seen too many examples of content which is skewed by editors to specific agendas and which ignore the realities of millions and even billions of other people - simply because there is a bias to English and the translation of term and concept from one language to another is ignored and dismissed. This allows skewing of reality and also promotes cultural bias and worse. Far, Far Worse.

I'm also most unhappy with the unfettered abuse - bullying and harassment that is empowered by lack of control and basic will across all of Wikiland. That Wiki has no secure or independent route to report abuse and have it recognised and even addressed is amazing in this day and age. What do some people need - Stopping Cyber Abuse and Bullying For Dummies?

The spectacular fail allows abusers, especially in the Admin class, to abuse with impunity as has been shown by research the impact of such abuse upon women is higher and different to men - when subjected to abuse 50% of victims end up with TSD related symptomatology - and people with a history of abuse or victimisation and PTSD are obliged to self exclude and be discriminated against making Disability Discrimination a real issue.

The relevant source can be obtained on this link - Archived at WebCite - else visit Electronic Communication Harassment Observation Study.

Wiki does not care because Wiki is male centric and those who are empowered to abuse won't give up the power. As a Guy I find it sickening and wrong.

Having Wiki change to stop the abuse and control the abusers is like asking Turkeys to sing Christmas carols as they lay their neck on the chopping block. Empowered abusers of that type are Institutionally Abusive and use the institutions systems to maintain bullying opportunity. The lack of appreciation of the issues and diversity of laws that exist globally only adds to the mess and smoke and mirrors that the abusers use to hide in plain sight.

I've also learned just how disinterested many are in anything other than pushing their own agendas, supporting their own biases and using the 5 Pillars as bent tent poles to keep their sheltered reality covered at the expense of everyone else on this planet. I keep finding so many examples of Systemic Bias across Misplaced Pages it is beyond disturbing. I keep finding so many pages that need desperate attention, and such battles as to be comical. When you have 39 people arguing over where the full stop goes, it's not editing or consensus it's lunacy warfare. When you have admins on a control freak abuse and bullying jag, it simply obstructs quality editing and wastes peoples time, good will and eventually they say Fuck You Wiki.

I am still getting to grips with the Netiquette, technology and rambling referencing as to how it all works. The help files are just about the most unhlepful thing there is, and frankly you have a better chance of stumbling upon a vagrant Diplodocus than the right answer or useful pages. In many ways, Wikiville has descended into a very poor Technocracy with too many Nurse Ratcheds.

Also the lack of clear policy, practice and procedure allows abusive admins to make up the supposed law as they see fit and when editors don't agree they are hounded by the negligently empowered abuser. That little issue has been ongoing for so long it isn;t even recognised as a mode for abuse and bullying... it's just become a feature ow Wiki hidden behind the excuse of there are no rules - except the one's that Nurse Ratcheds is making up today to fulfil her personal quota of freakery and control issues.

There is a gross Bias of Term Vs Concept where the technology of Googling overrides rational common sense. Beware The ""'Googlearchy'".

This not only causes systemic bias and inconsistency across wikipedia, it promotes it in wider culture. Wiki needs to change it's ways - prevent the abuse - stop the discrimination which is endemic and systemic and get back to basic good quality content and make admin serve content by editors and not the other way round.

Due to the bullying and abuse that I have observed and mapped I have developed a warning system for my own usage - it was inspired by a certain mendacious editor who went so OTT in covering up their own errors by attacking others it was almost comical - if in fact it had bot been so deliberately mendacious and targeted. So here is the Civil way to say Fuck Off and mean it in a Civil Fashion.

By the time it was drafted the editor who inspired it had within less than 24 hours exceeded level 5. It was an impressive escalation by them with false accusations of me saying they were taking drugs - issuing legal threat - a Troll - derailing ... and all because they were not happy being asked to account for their own failed conduct whilst attacking many others.

As with Serial bullies they tried various tactics - he dismissed any questions - then attacked and counter claimed - and then other abusers swooped in and recommend a wiki break ... and the Bully saying just how much they needed a break (Feighned Victimhood) It was so WP:DRAMA as to deserve an Oscar and more. It's a perfect example in Micro of the absue and bullying empowered by Wiki and displayed daily by those empowered to abuse - Bully and Harass with impunity. I'm recommending it for academic study in the field of Online abuse. It's that good! P^)

Keep your eyes pealed for the academic papers.

Oh - and I saw this on a talk page as a response to some ... well.... not necessarily nice Wikidenizens - It's so Pratchetesque, and when supposed mature self impotent wikizens decide to do the elder routine ... It is a Tonic (No Gin Required) :

I have been inexorably marching along the passages of Misplaced Pages, scraping my knees on its abrasive asininity and carefully circumambulating the muddling morasses that befoul the paths of many. I have sloughed off my callow skin in the oppressive heat and those nascent days of neophyte tenderness have long since faded away from the memory of a mind battered and subdued from editing travails. And though I still find myself trundling along the dust-filled corridors of this catacomb of contention, bedizened with begrimed tapestries of bygone POV tags, and stepping over the crumbling masonry of abandoned constructions that mock the gleaming facade and vaunting pillars of policy that greet the inquisitive and the unwary, I still do not consider myself a Misplaced Pages veteran: someone engorged with multitudinous minutiae, incorrigibly inured to inimical interaction, a denizen relentlessly leery and swift to rejoice in solecistic stumblings. So yes, I may no longer be of 'tender age' but I still consider my outlook 'relatively new';

Thanks for examining the article: "Paul Arthur Messier." The duplicated articles came from my realization that there was already an article named "Paul Messier." I couldn't figure out a way to rename it some went with submitting the dupe "Paul Arthur Messier." The latter article has already been rejected (as a dupe), and so the article "Paul Messier" remains awaiting review. I am concerned this article will be rejected since the title already exists and will deal with that when and if it happens. I am certainly still learning the ropes and any ideas you might have to avoid this problem would be appreciated. Fotofile (talk) 13:01, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
