Rekishi monogatari (歴史物語, sometimes translated as "historical tale") is a category of Japanese literature.
Notable historical tales are:
- Eiga monogatari (A Tale of Flowering Fortunes)
- Ōkagami (The Great Mirror)
- Imakagami (Today's Mirror)
- Mizukagami (The Water Mirror)
- Masukagami (The Clear Mirror)
