It resembles a panther with a pair of tentacles coming out of its back. It hunts humans and other races for sport, making it more of a hunter than predator to civilized races. Through an extraordinary ability called displacement, this beast is actually a few feet away from where an attacked perceives it to be. In earlier editions of the game, this ability was a form of teleportation; in the current (third) edition, this is instead an illusion.
