Inferno is a 2013 thriller and mystery novel by American writer Dan Brown and the fourth book in his Robert Langdon series. The book is set to be released on May 14, 2013 by Doubleday. en la novela Inferno, inspirada en La Divina Comedia de Dante y que saldrá a la venta en un lanzamiento internacional y simultáneo sin precedentes esta primavera.
La Editorial Planeta será la encargada de editarlo en castellano mientras que Empúries publicará el libro en catalán. El mismo autor precisó que Dante, y específicamente su texto sobre el infierno, es el eje de Inferno. Tal como la obra y biografía de Leonardo Da Vinci le sirvió como punto de partida para El código da Vinci, Brown pretende explotar la influencia en el mundo de hoy de Dante. La trama no ha sido adelantada. Apenas se sabe que Langdon tendrá que echar mano de lo que aprendió en Harvard sobre arte clásico, esoterismo y ciencia. Ambientada en Florencia, Italia, debe enfrentar a un “aterrador enemigo” que amenaza con cambiar el curso del mundo. Lo de siempre.
Marketing
Brown released the book's title on his website on January 15, 2013, after prompting readers to help "reveal" a digital mosaic using social media posts, and revealed the cover in late February of 2013. The cover depicts the famous Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore located in Florence, Italy.
Companion books
One companion book to Brown's Inferno novel has already been published, titled Templar Inferno: Knights of Rebellion. Another book has been announced for publication in June of 2013, titled Inferno Decoded.
