Blue Is the Warmest Colour (Template:Lang-fr) is a 2013 French drama film directed by Abdellatif Kechiche. It has been selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. The film is based on the French graphic novel Le Bleu Est Une Couleur Chaude ("blue is a warm colour"), by Julie Maroh.

Reception
At Cannes the film shocked some critics with its graphic sex scenes and the film may require some editing before it is screened in cinemas. Several critics have placed the film as frontrunner to win the Palme d'Or.
Justin Chang writing for Variety said that the film contains "the most explosively graphic lesbian sex scenes in recent memory". Jordan Mintzer of the Hollywood Reporter said that despite the film's 3-hour running time, (it) "is held together by phenomenal turns from Lea Seydoux and newcomer Adele Exarchopoulos, in what is clearly a breakout performance." Writing for The Guardian, Peter Bradshaw said that "it is genuinely passionate film-making" and awarded it four out of five stars.
