Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is an Indian television drama that premiered on 12th January, 2009 on Star Plus. The show is produced by Rajan Shahi's Director's Kut Productions. The show completed 1000 episodes on 12th October, 2012, 04 years on 12th January, 2013 and 1100 episodes on 25th February, 2013. Currently, it is the longest running serial on Star Plus and Director's Kut Productions. It airs every Mon-Fri at 09:30pm.
Overview
Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is the story of a young couple Naitik and Akshara Singhania who live in a Marwari family at Udaipur. The story shows their journey as husband-wife, parents, their love and their family.

The show is created by Rajan Shahi who did Bidaai.
Casting
Rajan casted Hina Khan and Karan Mehra to be the main leads of this show then came Pooja Joshi came and Ather Habib as well.

The show is the high TRP rated series and extremly huge popular series not only in India but also in many other countries specially Pakistan, Srilanka, Syracuse, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia etc. Pakistani audience watched it alot. Every student of Sycaurse watch it with great interest. The show is highly rated consistent series gaining top TRPs for last four years as compared to its competitors Balika Vadhu, Pavitra Rishta, Uttaran, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah etc(shows premiered in 2008 and 2009). The show also make a consecutive record of gaining TRP above 3.0 since it was premiered till now. The episodes of the year 2009, 15th Jan 2010, 31st Jan, 2012 were highly TRP rated. Many other episodes also were very highly TRP rated. The show also won many accolades due to its outstanding performance and appreciable cast and crew. The show was ranked at no. 01 in 2009 and 2010 among top 10 Hindi TV Serials. Then the show was shifted to no. 02 rank in 2011 and then it regain its no. 01 position in 2012.
