New York Social Diary is maintained by David Patrick Columbia who has access to and interacts with wealthy and famous individuals at various events and publishes a record of the happenings there in the form of photographs at the website. The site also makes available a calender of such events.

Peter Kuhns likens the Diary to the society pages of newspapers that covered parties that celebrities attended. He attributes the Diary to providing stories about wealthy American business people and European royalty well before they appear in traditional media.
