Nosferatu are a British goth rock band that formed in 1988. They were founded by guitarist Vlad Janicek with a female vocalist named Sapphire Aurora. They were eventually joined on guitar by Damien Deville, the band would change vocalists several times before Louis DeWray filled the position in 1991. After several one-off releases, they released their debut album, Rise, in 1993. DeWray left before the followup could be recorded, and was replaced by Niall Murphy. The second album, The Prophecy, was released in 1995. Founding bassist Vlad Janicek was effectively forced out when Damien left during a UK Tour and then decided to hijack the name forming a new lineup around his new venture. Subsequent releases have produced ever dwindling fortunes. The current lineup sees the return of DeWray in an attempt to arrest dwindling interest in the band, never the same since Mr Janicek's departure.
