  • Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
  • Offer a correction if possible.
  • References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
  • Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 21:59 on 3 January 2025) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
  • Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
  • Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
  • No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
  • Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
  • Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

Canada floods

"...evacuation of thousands" of what? If it's people, then say "thousands of people". 108.57.17.8 (talk) 01:33, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

2013 North India floods

Death toll increases to 150. Source:North India Floods: Death Toll in Uttarakhand Mounts to 150 and Over 60,000 Stranded; Kedarnath Temple Still Intact Article is updated accordingly. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 06:49, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Updated per the RS you've noted, and the article. The Rambling Man (talk) 20:58, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
The official toll appears to be 190 now. You're requested to check. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 10:22, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
@TheOriginalSoni: The article says 210 now. And it would he helpful for admins here if you give the source here as well. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 12:05, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
@The Rambling Man: BBC says 500+ now. Source. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 14:48, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
This is why we're supposed to avoid exact numbers. Simply use 'hundreds' and then there's no problem of the number constantly changing. Modest Genius 23:19, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
I prefer using a close enough estimate than just the word "hundreds" as it tends to give a much better idea to our readers of how big or small the catastrophe has been. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 01:58, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Singapore haze

Currently, the item says, "smoke from slash-and-burn cultivation in Indonesia causes the worst haze ever recorded in Singapore." Shouldn't it also be mentioned that parts of Indonesia and Malaysia are affected by the haze? Judging from population data, there must be more affected people in Sumatra and southern part of West Malaysia. Singapore only generates most publicity 222.165.10.249 (talk) 06:38, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

I also considered asking this but I dunno if the article says that there are also record numbers in Indonesia and Malaysia. The PSI readings in Sumatra are actually worse than SG's, soaring to 500 (compared to 400 in SG) but I dunno if that's a record there. –HTD 17:27, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
