The Columbus campus is the second largest single campus in the United States (48,003 total enrollment according to the OSU Office of University Relations . The university is noted especially for its linguistics department and education school.
The school's sports teams are called the Buckeyes. They participate in the NCAA's Division I-A and the Big Ten Conference.
