Speedy deletion nomination of Scot-Trac

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Scot-Trac, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Misplaced Pages:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Greenmaven (talk) 07:18, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Conventions - again

Speedy deletion nomination of Stadco

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Stadco requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Going wrong

Before you try again, have a look at WP:PRIMER, and read WP:CORP on corporate notability, and WP:RS about the sort of reliable independent sources you need to prove it. Being true doesn't count, being big doesn't count. I deleted an article about a big company whose products were used by millions of people every day. But no-one outside the backroom purchasing departments (and the Infernal Revenue) had heard of them. Why? They made own brand goods for supermarkets. Nothing bore their own name, no-one had written about them - they didn't get an article here. Fair? Maybe not. We have to rely on referencing and verifiability. Not from someone saying "I know them - I worked there for 40 years.". Has to be stuff that can be accessed now and later. If you try again, do it at User:Vcorani/draft (or something like that), don't copy outside stuff, put references in - and ask for an opinion. (If it's a copyvio or sounds like advertising, you'll get an opinion before you ask...) Most admins and regular editors are willing to give an opinion - just put {{helpme}} on your talkpage with a link to the draft to be looked at and a request for opinion. The people that answer those helpme appeals are helpful and friendly - and honest. (Well, they are when they're here. You never know who goes burgling in their spare time...) Good luck, and enjoy editing here. Don't get put off be setbacks - learn from them. Peridon (talk) 19:49, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

  • I would add a few points to that. Re the top of this page: we do not call other Wikipedians morons and, as I have told you before, we do not shout. I recognised Renold plc as a notable company but I allowed your submission to be deleted because it was utterly slovenly. You have been editing here for three years, you should know by now what is needed for a Misplaced Pages article. You simply insult Misplaced Pages by submitting three stubby sentences. If you actually bother to create a proper article, it will probably stick. But as Peridon says, draft it in a user page. I will be happy to vet it before publication. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:11, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
Please learn how to spell and. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:15, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
  • the article was just a starting point for quick reference, not a whole book! I was going to add a little more after today but whats the point when wikipedia deals in only half story information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vcorani (talkcontribs)
Please sign with four ~ things. That's the point about working in userspace first - it gives you time. The only real restrictions there are no attacks, no copyright violations, and no spam. The main article space is, in theory at least, for articles able to stand on their own two feet (or eight wheels as the case may be). A 'stub' should tell enough about the subject to show it is significant, and be referenced to prove it. A userspace draft only needs to meet these criteria when it's about to be launched into article space. Believe me, we're not trying to stop you editing. We're trying to help you get it right - with less hassle. We don't expect a whole book. We do expect at least a stub. If you went to a car showroom, and found three of their cars jacked up and bits all over the floor, what would you think of them? Here, we expect a car that's capable of running (even if it's only a SmartCar), with some fuel in the tank and the battery charged. Peridon (talk) 21:45, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
  • I suppose putting 'undercon' would help as i never envisaged 'everything' was finalised on them, but at least their was some info. — VC 22:39, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
  • ps- and to use your peridon car analogy, what would people think of a car showroom when theres nothing in it, which is what you got when my articles were deleted - for brief they were, but at least site site visitors had something to read + a link ! — VC 23:09, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Why is it so difficult for you to get the concept of a userspace draft? You created a massive one about Lost. A userspace draft does not need any 'undercon' tag. I have restored your sub-stub to User:Vcorani/Renold plc. Now take it from there and, as I said before, ask Peridon or me or any experienced editor before you publish it. And, we repeat, please learn to sign comments properly with ~~~~ — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:56, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
  • This userspace draft I didnt know of, so didnt know I could use it, tho I will - but what does one type in to create it? — VC 15:53, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Didn't know you could use it?! What is User:Vcorani/sandbox that you have been editing if it is not a userspace page? "What does one type in to create it?" One does not type anything in. One simply follows the link I have already given you: User:Vcorani/Renold plc and then hits the "Edit" tab! Do you understand now? Also, do you understand that you should sign comments with ~~~~? Please reply. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:29, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
  • oh i see, i thought that was just for try-outs to see what something looks like if it were published.

Proposed deletion of The creative process

The article The creative process has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per Misplaced Pages:NOTHOWTO and WP:Synth.

While all contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rorshacma (talk) 18:31, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

Nomination of The creative process for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The creative process is suitable for inclusion in Misplaced Pages according to Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/The creative process until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.  --Lambiam 10:40, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Please read WP:RS/IMDB and be aware the link you provide must support the details you claim it references, which your reference in Triton motorcycle did not do. In future please find a proper reliable source. ww2censor (talk) 02:41, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Vortigern

A common mistake made by inexperienced users (which I made when I was new) is what we call 'original research', adding material to an article which isn't directly backed by a reliable source. See WP:NOR for a description of original research, WP:VERIFY for an explanation of our policy on verification, and WP:RS, a guideline for sources. I reverted your edit because it was original research. I've also noted that you are adding bare urls to articles. Please don't do this. We use 'inline citations' and all good articles will have these. Usually these can be seen in the form of clickable numbers which take you to the reference at the bottom of the article. WP:CITE tells you how to do this, but if you click on the edit window, at its top you will see a menu bar. Click on that and on the left you will see some templates you can use to automate the process. Note that for books you need to include page numbers and to do that you have to click on 'show/hide extra fields'. I hope this is useful. 81.109.118.115 (talk) 05:07, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

The Terminator

FYI, the content you added to The Terminator has been removed for a second time. First, it's full of your own analysis and opinions, which aren't appropriate for Misplaced Pages. Second, it's making a huge deal out of a very trivial bit of info, which isn't appropriate for the tone of the article. Third, the information about Ellison is already covered in the "Release" section of the article, so what you're adding is repetitive. Please take the matter up on the article's talk page before trying to re-add this a third time. --IllaZilla (talk) 06:36, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

Civility and original research

Hi. I just spotted your comment at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Room of Angel (Silent Hill soundtrack). STAFFED BY IDIOTS WHO DELETE USEFUL AND INTERESTING POINTS isn't a particularly civil comment, and certainly isn't constructive in reaching consensus on the dicussion. I'm sure you're aware of the policy on no original research, which exists in an effort to ensure that content is verifiable by readers of the encyclopedia. Interesting facts may be notable, but they need to be attributed to reliable sources. Cheers, anyway. -- Trevj (talk) 10:59, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. This was completely unsourced and apparentlly original research. Please read that link and WP:VERIFY. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 10:32, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

REPLY... you wrongly changed the add-on I did to the road film page, as it couldn't be 'completely unsourced' as the film itself was the source! + it had no 'apparentlly original research' as the info came from other Misplaced Pages pages which I just linked to as technical references for viewers. an you spelt apparently with 2 L's when it has 1. VC 14:23, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

And I didn't edit the page, see . What you added was against our policy at WP:NOR. Dougweller (talk) 14:58, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Please read this

After checking over your other edits, reading your user and talk page, and taking into consideration you've been editing for years, it seems, rather than not understanding it, you don't care about our policy of no original research. Please start caring. This is one of our fundamental policies which keeps our articles from degenerating into a mass of speculations and pet theories. The next time you insert original research, synthesis, or poorly sourced info (Youtube searches and videos by " fightIslamicCensore3" are light years away from being reliable) I will ask administrators at WP:ANI to look over your user page and edits and decide if you really belong at Misplaced Pages. --NeilN 13:26, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

  • YES BUT THE SOURCES ARE ON YOUTUBE, WHICH IS WHY I INCLUDED A SEARCH LINK TO LIST THE SOURCES !

VC 14:05, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Youtube sources are generally not acceptable. Secondly, you must provide a link to the exact source and not make the reader weed through search results. --NeilN 14:15, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
I want to reinforce what NeilN has said, and also note that if I find you ignoring this advice before you are reported I reserve the right to block you myself. This is policy, nothing to do with Hitler as you seem to suggest on your user page. If you don't like our policy and can't live with it, this isn't the place for you.
