I did not take these pictures. I only put them up because I like the way they look. The flags represent countries I have a fascination with. I'm very curious about the world and this is not by any means an exhaustive list.
Intro
Greetings! I am EnglishEfternamn, but you can call me EE for short. I used to be quite active here on Misplaced Pages a few years back, but stopped editing. Now, I decided to pick up where I left off. I have a lot of userboxes. I hope that doesn't bother you. I'm not nearly as narcissistic as my page makes me look =)
Previous work
I started the following pages while operating before:
This user believes that promoting Western values such as democracy, free speech, and universal suffrage, throughout the world need not conflict with other cultures and civilisations.
This user is a Social Democrat.
According to The Political Compass this user is: Economic Left (−1.75) and Social Authoritarian (+3.46)
This user assumes good faith and believes all users are productive until they demonstrate otherwise. Thus, this user welcomes all new usernames by default.
3 June 2013: It's awfully sad how many pages on this encyclopedia have to be protected because of the number of people that only want to vandalise them.
Today I joined WikiProject Video Games. Hope to be a help!
The pages regarding the history of South Africa need more than just one perspective. Gee whiz.
I want to write an article about a book I have, The Impossible Takes Longer by David Pratt. I am not sure if it is notable enough yet, so I am keeping this page as a draft. Anyone who would like to help should do so!
I love this new sig!!
4 June:
Meh. Not too many editing ideas today. Maybe I overdid it yesterday, haha.
Did a little bit of work on the Regular Show, Cordoba (province), and Rhodesia articles.
Ok, so I listed the things I did with my former account.
6 June:
I'm happy to have signed up for WikiProject South Africa.
It seems to me that there are far fewer rank instances of vandalism than there were in 2007 when I was last active here. This is probably the result of the many improvements in auto-detection...or maybe most of them get bored faster.
7 June
Provided a couple of citations for two notable residents of Kennesaw, Georgia.
9 June
I added an image to the Stara Zagora article of a statue I took a picture of when I went there some time back.
I'm back! EE!
10 June
It's my custom to welcome all users I see that just joined WP, as a sign of good faith, but it's really disappointing when I do so only to find out they're just registering to be up to no good.
Looks like I have a collaborator on improving the Longboarding page!
11 June
Provided two new citations for the Longboarding page, and did a little rewording work in various articles.
13 June
Helped resolve a over Tanzania's GDP between two very well meaning editors. It's very nice to see when compromises are made yet everybody is happy. EnglishEfternamn*t/c* 19:44, 13 June 2013 (UTC)
23 June
Helped resolve a content dispute between two long feuding users at WP:DRN. But these two users are now duking it out on AN/I. Aye carrumba...

Chances are, it's harder to become an administrator on the English Misplaced Pages than it is to become a representative in the national legislature of your country. Way back, when I first had an RfA, most people wanted 2-3k edits. Now they want 5, and they have to have perfect "article-to-talk" ratios, never have been blocked, be neutral by everyone's perspective, and have little opposition. I'm sorry but some of us have lives outside of Misplaced Pages.
25 June
Will be doing work on the Mario Tennis, Super Mario World, and Socialism articles.
26 June
Provided a cross comparison between the NES Mario series games and Super Mario All Stars. See it here.
28 June
Non-admins should not act as though they are.
OK, so I nominated Sonic The Hedgehog (1991 game) for Good Article status. Will be working on it to see that the article gets that recognition.
Champagne socialism explained
This page contains material that is kept because it is considered humorous. Such material is not meant to be taken seriously.

According to Misplaced Pages, A Champagne Socialist is a pejorative term that refers to people who are socialistic in their view, but "...have a decidedly capitalist lifestyle". Who decided on that wording, I don't know, I think I'll work on that article when I am done writing this. The point is, I think it is possible for one to wear the label proudly, as I do. For me, the term Champagne Socialist refers to one who is supportive of economic socialism, yet has not lost his/her appreciation for finery: in food, in music, in etiquette, etc.
That is why I say, just because we believe freedom pertains to more than the First Amendment and thus, pertains to economics, doesn't mean we cannot enjoy our BMWs, play our violins to the finest music, and eat caviar, Brie, and the best of salmon "slow cooked for six hours" and "served on a mahogany plank". I mean, what is so wrong with discussing the improvement of the working class over a bottle of the most expensive wine anyway?
In my experience, the majority of people who share my political views are somewhat "hippie-like", which I find disappointing. If you share the same political views in conjunction with the same cultural tastes as me, let me know, it would be kind of neat to see there are other like me around. EnglishEfternamn*t/c*
My username explained
A few Wikipedians have asked me what my username means. I'd like to take this time to explain. "Efternamn", if you are not familiar with the Swedish language is the term for "surname". Because I have a surname of English origin, I put together the term "EnglishEfternamn". I chose the word because while I don't have any Swedish heritage (that I know of anyway, I'm predominantly Spanish), I have a deep interest in Swedish culture, actually I hope to study there for a term or so, eventually. So there, that is why i chose this username which sounds rather unique. EnglishEfternamn*t/c*
Quizzes!
I have created a couple of quizzes for your enjoyment. You can find them at GoToQuiz.com, where you can make quizzes of your own. I have made two so far, and a third is on the way. Here are the quizzes currently open for viewing:
How High-Class Are You? - This quiz rates your level of class by analyzing your cultural, fashion, and intellectual traits. Keep in mind, this quiz is highly subjective, as it judges the person by my own standard of what I view to be "high class", hence the two words are hyphenated and capitalised. Take the quiz
How Well Do You Know World History? Part I -Unlike the former quiz, this quiz is highly objective, testing your knowledge on various historical events in ancient, early, and middle history. It takes a true expert in history to genuinely score high in this quiz, so take a shot at it and see where you stand. Take the quiz Stay tuned for "Part II"
What is your political ideology? -This quiz determines a person's political ideology based on the answers he/she gives to various political questions. I just took it myself, but I'm not so sure I can even do that correctly, as the quiz itself is mine. My dominant result is "Social Democrat", big surprise (in case you didn't know, I was being sarcastic). The possible ideologies one may receive are Conservatism, Liberalism, Social Democracy (which may or may not be combined with Democratic Socialism), Fascism, and Libertarianism. The last two ideologies are tricky, in my opnion, because it is often argued that neither one of them are ideologies per se, but rather, guidelines for dealing with structure and authority.
I would lie, and state the this quiz is completely objective, but any quiz that deals with politics could not possibly accomplish that end. All in all, I did my best. Take the quiz, see where you stand, and if it is not much trouble, let me know what you liked/disliked about it. Take the quiz
