Adam Montoya better known by his internet persona, SeaNanners, is a notable video game commentator who is most famous for his personal YouTube channel and his work at the internet gaming content producer, Machinima where he was a Gaming Commentator. He now commentates on games he plays with other famous commentators like ChilledChaos, GassyMexican, CaptainSparklez, Mr Sark, PewDiePie and TheSyndicateProject. Montoya also works as a producer for Indie iOS game developer, Section Studios. As of January 28, 2014, Montoya's YouTube channel has 3,900,000+ subscribers and his videos have 770,000,000+ views.

Career

Adam Montoya first began his YouTube channel on August 27, 2008, under the name SeaNanners (his Xbox Live gamertag) where he released his first video commentary. His first video was of Call of Duty: World at War gameplay. He recorded footage then commentated over it remarking on the action on the footage and his strategies, etc. His videos were quickly found by at the time Machinima employee Shaun Hutch. Hutch approached Montoya and eventually offered him a job at Machinima. Montoya signed on and began his career at Machinima. His personal channel continued content during his duration at Machinima. Montoya began releasing daily videos, edited down to about 3–5 minutes each of game-play he did with other famous personalities. He mainly plays PC games, in particular, Trouble in Terrorist Town, The Hidden, Murder and other Garry's Mod games.

Montoya worked at Machinima for several years and left in 2012 when longtime friend and co-worker Shaun Hutch left for personnel reasons. Montoya, Hutch and Scott Robison (Mr. Sark) were the founders of the very successful spin-off channel, Machinima Respawn, and are attributed with helping Machinima becoming more successful. Montoya had his own show on the channel "Hello Everyone! My name is Seananners" which featured game-play with other Machinima personalities. The three created lasting impacts on both YouTube and Machinima and helped create the "Let's Play" game-play phenomenon in video/media production. The three maintained friendships following the break-up and still continue to collaborate with other commentators to create content for their personal channels today.

Although Montoya works "full time" for Youtube, he has started to expand and start projects elsewhere, including working with Tom Cassell on Zombie Killer Squad, an iOS game. Montoya also expressed interest in video game production and larger commentary network construction, similar to Rooster Teeth in his videos. He maintains these goals but has not given clear definitions on his activities, simply stating that he is working on other projects for the future.

He has also appeared in the documentaries Minecraft: The Story of Mojang and "Please Subscribe" as himself.

Personal life

Montoya has been in a relationship with Cathy Diep (Catabot) since late 2011/early 2012, when she was interning at Machinima.
