It is located at around 38°16′0″N 16°13′0″E / 38.26667°N 16.21667°E / 38.26667; 16.21667. Gerace is located several miles inland from Locri, yet the latter town and the Sea can be seen from Gerace's perch atop a 1/2 km vertical rock. Gerace has beautiful cobblestone streets and medieval houses. The main attractions of Gerace are the remains of the old Norman castle (begun 10th C.) at the top of Gerace, and the perfectly preserved medieval town.
