Brigador (formerly known as Matador) is an upcoming isometric real-time tactical game from independent studio Stellar Jockeys, scheduled to be released in Summer 2014. It has been compared with the Syndicate and Mechwarrior series.
Gameplay
After selecting a vehicle and equipping it with weapons, the player is placed at random into one of nine districts. Each district can be cleared by completing one of three objectives: eliminating all enemies, sabotaging all ammo depots or destroying an orbital defense platform. There is no way to save the game, restart or accumulate experience: the game must be completed in one sitting. However, unlocked features should carry through from one playthrough to the next, and enemy placements are randomized between matches.
Development
Brigador is produced by four-man studio Stellar Jockeys working out of Seattle, WA and Champaign, IL. Brothers Hugh and Jack Monahan are behind the game's art direction and design, working with programmers Dale Kim and Harry Hsiao. The game has been Greenlit on Steam, and is scheduled to be released in Summer 2014.
