CyberBerkut (Template:Lang-ru, Template:Lang-uk) — is a modern organized group of hacktivists. The group became known for a series of well-publicized publicity stunts and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on government, and corporate websites.
Description
The prefix "cyber" probably means that the group works in the so-called cyberspace (the Internet) . The group emerged after the dissolution of special police force "Berkut". Composition is not known, for obvious reasons members of the community tend to remain anonymous. There are groups in social networks.
Proclaimed his goals as the fight against neo-fascism, neo-nationalism and arbitrary power in Ukraine. For example, they outlawed “Right Sector” organization. Motto resembles that of the "Anonymous" group.
Activity
- Attacks on NATO websites.
- Attacks on U.S. private military companies
- Publication of correspondence of deputies of parties "Batkivshchyna" and "Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform". Publication of correspondence with the United States Embassy and United States foundations.
- Disclosure to public of telephone recording Y. V. Tymoshenko and N. I. Shufrych.
- Disclosure to public of telephone recording High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Urmas Paet.
- Blocking cellular phone members of the current government of Ukraine and persons that close to them.
- Blocking Internet resource of A. V. Parubiy and news portals: LigaBusinessInform and Ukrainian Independent Information Agency.
- Publication of video materials that blocked on YouTube.
- Attempt to disrupt the recruitment of the National Guard of Ukraine.
