Prakash Raj, name controversy

Read this to understand why he is known as Prakash Rai

Prakash rai hailing from south canara(karnataka) should'nt have changed his name to raj.

Prakash, Please show ur solidarity to kannada Industry (read Film industry) also. Also, keep your original name..

He could have changed the name because he found it more appealing to the tincle world. Why is it being portrayed as anti Kannada?

Do you recognize this name? --> Singanalluru Puttaswamayya Muthuraju Can you say he betrayed kannada because he changed his name?--Gthorvey (talk) 19:47, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

There is no controversy on the Telugu film "Parugu"

Prakash Raj was already banned once by the Telugu film Industry as he was never on time for some movies and refused to act in some after he had conflicts with the directors or Producers.

There is NO controversy, he had a birth name, (no citation added for this fact), which he changed, read screen name to Prakash Raj, confirmed by Govt. of India website - "55th NATIONAL FILM AWARDS FOR THE YEAR 2007" (PDF). Press Information Bureau (Govt. of India)., Hence the title is misleading --Ekabhishek 05:28, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Prakash Rai's name was changed to Prakash Raj, but and he is Prakash Raj only for the other industries whereas he says he sis still prakash rai for kannada..... watch this: when the rj calls him raj he says, i am rai not raj..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQpgitqfLvo. He is loyal to Karnataka.

Information needed

Nothing has been mentioned about married life of Prakash Raj. Can anybody update this information with some reliable sources? And Similarly Sources need to be stated as to why he has been banned from Telugu films for some time. --రవిచంద్ర (talk) 07:32, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

PRAKASH RAJ IS GREAT

PRAKASH RAJ IS GREAT ACTOR. IF HE IS NOT IN THE MOVIE, WE FEEL THAT, IT IS WASTE TO WATCH THE MOVIE. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.192.228.26 (talk) 14:02, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Debut In Hindi Films

The awards section of the article mentions Prakash Raj has been awarded 2010 -Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut -Wanted.

But if i remember correctly he has acted in the film Khakee in 2004.

Isn't the information confusing and misleading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ajaxr77 (talkcontribs) 05:58, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Keep tamil chauvinist editors out of here

i don't understand why tamil is being added in the lang temp.the name prakash raj itself is pure sanskrit and prakash raj has acted in mutiple language films hindi malayalam kannada etc.does that mean every lang template will be added. think mother tongue should be enough as per wki policy and his mother tongue is Tulu (a heavily sanskritised south indian language) and also he is an upper caste Bunt who have north indian origins.so some north indian fan will come and demand hindi should also be added.think wiki should restrict it's lang template to mother tongue or add not language template at all.116.73.163.159 (talk) 07:22, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Mentioning Caste

Dear Editors!
There has been a discussion on India Portal related to mentioning of caste of subjects. The point is that mentioning caste of people, who have nothing to do with their caste, is found to be unnecessary by few editors. Hence the caste of the subject person needs to be deleted from the biography. I am not deleting the caste as of now but am only posting this here so that the regular editors of this article are well aware of it beforehand and no edit-wars take place. For details of discussion held on the portal please refer Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#Mentioning_caste_of_Individuals. Your views if any are welcome there or even here.
And.... as the reasons of exclusion of caste pointed out were "irrelavant to notability of subject person", "privacy of the subject person", "inclusion of caste is like branding individuals", etc. other information included in the article which also fall under these cases will also be removed after discussions. Examples of it included religion, non-notable spouse's and children's and parents' information, previous occupation, lived in places, non-notability related educational qualification, etc.
Your views on this are also welcome here or at the India portal. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 13:33, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Not here, please. There is a community discussion taking place at WT:INB and I would advise people to read the entire discussion before forming an opinion because the above summary is incorrect. Nothing more need be said here. - Sitush (talk) 01:40, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

PRAKASH RAI'S MOTHER TONGUE IS KANNADA AND NOT TULU

I am shocked to know that many feel his mother tongue is Tulu. Where on earth do you people come out with all this? Please get you facts right. He was born in Puttur, that doesn't mean his mother tongue should be Tulu. Prakash has time and again said his mother tongue is Kannada and not Tulu. His father spoke Tulu, but his mother was a Kannadiga. Hence his mother tongue was Kannada and his native was Bengaluru and watch this video where he clarifies it at 2:35 in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVhfzqkk3Ho. Even when there was a controversy regarding his Hindi movie Singham where there was a demand to remove a dialogue that a few Kannada Organizations felt was derogatory against the Kannadigas, he immediately responded to the media and press of all languages that there was nothing controversial and he himself was a Kannadiga and would never insult his own mother tongue that he loves the most and he even said that he would never let anyone else insult it and he questioned as to how he would allow conversations that would provide pain to his own people in any movie that he is cast, however the dialogue was later removed from the film http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bLPln8PeIM. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KK77VGXBR_w. http://news.oneindia.in/2011/07/23/karnataka-protest-ajay-s-singham-dialogues-muted-aid0101.html. http://www.dnaindia.com/entertainment/1568545/report-singham-dialogue-offends-kannadigas. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prakashlyrics (talkcontribs) 21:05, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

Is there an issue on his mother tongue over the media? I don't think so. --    L o g  X   21:14, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
