Unprotect Yank Barry

Please unprotect Yank_Barry, there is no Misplaced Pages policy or guideline that an article is to be fully protected in the event of a legal case. I understand your concern about it, that people who edit it may be counted as a defandant, and that is valid. However, it is a chilling effect and in effect 'endorses' a version in which you fully protected it at. If not, I will go to WP:RFPP and then WP:ANI. This should not be a precedent. In addition, the noticeboard that was linked did not even mention the legal case in depth nor the option to opt to fully protect, especially for such a long period of time.Tutelary (talk) 15:42, 29 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi Tutelary - I am not willing to unprotect in this case. I feel the risk to editors of getting involved in legal proceedings is just too high. I haven't protected the wrong or the right version - I've just protected the first one I came across (cf. m:The Wrong Version). I suggest you go to WP:RFPP and ask someone else if they are happy to unprotect - unfortunately I'm not. Sorry! Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 10:33, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry. You have new messages at WP:UNPROTECT.
Message added 23:45, 30 June 2014 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

FYI, a request has been added. Out of curiosity, what was the policy basis for the protection? All I can find is WP:IAR, which is infrequently applied to page protection. VQuakr (talk) 23:45, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
