Danièle Watts is an American actress. She best known for acting in Django Unchained. She is currently a main cast member of the television series, Partners.
Biography
Career
She has acted on film and television. She appeared in Django Unchained and several other films, including short films.
On television, she has appeared on How I Met Your Mother, Greek, Cold Case, Detroit 1-8-7, Criminal Minds, Private Practice, 90210, Castle, Melissa & Joey, and Weeds. She currently appears as a main cast member of the TV series Partners, acting as Martin Lawrence's daughter.
Personal life
She is in a relationship with Brian Lucas, a chef. On September 13, 2014, she was handcuffed and detained by an LAPD officer in Studio City. According to her account, she was being falsely mistaken for a prostitute, while with Lucas. Statements by the officers reveal that they were responding to a police call regarding lewd acts in public. According to some sources, witnesses say that Watts and her companion were having sex in public. The officers had acted on the police call and asked Watts to show them her ID. The audio records made by the police show that she refused to show her ID and claimed that she has a publicist and is an actress. She was uncuffed as soon as her partner showed his ID. The police was investigating complaints from an 911 caller who said there were people engaging in "sexual acts" outside the caller's building.
