Belated welcome

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Misplaced Pages, the 💕! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Plus, you (and others) will easily be able to see a list of all your contributions to Misplaced Pages.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! We on WP:WC seem to have been remiss on greeting you last month, so I've added some resource links for you with one of the standard greetings above. There is a lot to learn about wikiCulture in our Online community, and it's obvious from the below you've hit your head on a few bumps already! Asking someone on the welcoming committee won't always spare you the friction, but we can help you avoid pitfalls if you're patient and ask! Best wishes. // FrankB 13:37, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Commentary Warning

Stop adding commentary and your personal analysis of an article into Misplaced Pages articles. Doing so breaches Misplaced Pages's NPOV rules. Furthermore, reinserting the same commentary multiple times may cause you to violate the three-revert rule, which can lead to a block. -- Kim van der Linde 00:46, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Furthermore, see talk page of Jimmy Wales for discussion on this topic. -- Kim van der Linde 00:46, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I added that to the talk page. It's not my personal analysis though when it's a quote from someone else. Rompe 00:47, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
There has been a solid discussion at the talk page that wikitruth is not a reliable and accaptable source. -- Kim van der Linde 00:50, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Please stop recreating the article Corporate Espionage. Please see Misplaced Pages is not a dictionary. Danielrocks123 07:38, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

I was in the process of creating a page on it and people kept deleting the page. The page was going to have far more information than I had added when User:AmiDaniel deleted it despite the inuse template. Rompe 07:44, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps you might have considered not saving the page until you had it in its final form. In that case it might not have been deleted. I still expect that it would have been, though because it would be difficult to write an encyclopedic piece about corporate espionage. Danielrocks123 07:48, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
That's your opinion. Corporate espionage happens every day and is a major topic. Consider how many Misplaced Pages articles are less than a kilobyte, and they are not deleted. Are you saying corporate espionage is less significant than, say, Cock and ball torture?? Rompe 07:51, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

If you disagree with the article's deletion, then please seek a deletion review, or if you would like, I will gladly userfy the article for you. Please note that repeatedly recreating the article is considered vandalism and may well result in your being blocked for disruption. Also, I don't know whether you meant it this way, but Misplaced Pages upholds a strict policy against legal threats. Thanks. AmiDaniel (talk) 07:48, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

By the way, I've deleted Misplaced Pages:Votes for deletion/Corporate espionage as well, as it was pure vandalism. Please refrain from such behavior. AmiDaniel (talk) 07:51, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Add to that Talk:Corporate espionage, which was nothing more than a reposting of the article's content. AmiDaniel (talk) 07:52, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
That had more content and was going to be an article until you deleted it again dumbass.

Corporate espionage

It is my recommendation that instead of threatening other users with formal complaint proceedings that perhaps you create the article at say, User:Rompe/Corporate espionage and then approach an admin with in and they can remoove the page protection. Recreating a deleted page over and over is a sure fire way not to get itr reinstated. Thanks - Glen Stollery 07:51, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

To assist with this, here is the "article" as it was before it was deleted. May I suggest you work on it in your userspace til it is further fleshed out, then request an admin move it for you? User_talk:Rompe/Corporate_Espionage ShaunES 07:58, 12 June 2006 (UTC).

Last Warning

This is your last warning. If you continue to make personal attacks, you may be blocked for disruption. AmiDaniel (talk) 07:55, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

LOL Charging you with burning my britches isn't a personal attack. Rompe 07:56, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
I was actually refering more to "you deleted it again dumbass." As well as your other attacks on similar editors. It's a little difficult to actually have a discussion with you or take you seriously when you can't converse in a semi-intelligible fashion, without threatening "formal action" and attacking other contributors. AmiDaniel (talk) 07:59, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Well on a free-for-all like Misplaced Pages I'm not sure how else I'm supposed to interact. Rompe 08:00, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Well, free-for-all is "chaos", of which Misplaced Pages is not an experiment in anarchy -- Kevin_b_er 08:05, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
In theory and in practice are often quite different concepts. Rompe 08:06, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Blocked

You have now been blocked for disruption; the final straw was your tagging Cock and ball torture for speedy deletion. If you wish to contribute in a constructive manner, you are free to do so once the block expires. AmiDaniel (talk) 08:01, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

When will that be, and it wasn't a bad faith edit because that article is shorter than mine was and I found it with the random article button. Rompe 08:02, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Just to clarify the reason for your block, please see WP:POINT for more information on this policy. -- Karada 08:03, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
That will be in 24 hours. AmiDaniel (talk) 08:03, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
In the meantime I can't even edit User talk:Rompe/Corporate Espionage. WTF am I supposed to do? Rompe 08:04, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Unblocked

I've now unblocked you, and moved your material there. If you are willing to work together with other editors, rather than being combative, you should be OK; if not, you are very likely to be re-blocked. -- Karada 08:27, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. I'm willing to work, but based on what I've heard about Misplaced Pages I was less than optimistic. Rompe 08:32, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
You'll get on fine providing you don't try to fight other editors. If you play nicely with others, you'll find they will be glad to help you. You might want to read the guide for new users to find out more on how Misplaced Pages works. -- Karada 08:36, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. Would you mind turning Corporate espionage and Corporate Espionage into redirects to industrial espionage? I think I can turn that into a decent article despite claims to the contrary. Rompe 08:38, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
I do have confidence that you can turn this into a decent article, and will have no problem moving your content back to Corporate espionage once you have done that. There's just no need to get so riled up, start attacking everyone and everything, and do whatever it takes to get your way. I'll turn them in for redirects for now, and once you have your temp article turned into an actual article, come nag me and I will move it back for you. AmiDaniel (talk) 08:40, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Christmas

Refrain from replacing the image of the Nativity of Jesus with secularist propaganda or you will be blocked for disruption. Thank you. — CRAZY`(IN)`SANE 00:56, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Propaganda? Santa is commonly associated with Christmas, and you inappropriately used the popups to revert as if it was vandalism. Are you a Republican? Rompe 07:37, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: "Speedy deletions"

Heya, I just deleted "Speedy deletions". This was because it was recently deleted according to Misplaced Pages:Redirects for deletion. If at all possible, if you notice a redirect disappear (even more so for cross-namespace redirects from main space to Misplaced Pages: space, a practice which some people frown upon), please try to check if it has been RfD'd lately. This might save time because reposted deleted content gets speedy deleted and the folks who do SDs, don't seem to get much coffee these days. Sincerely (a guy who's slightly bitter about the removal of "AfD" redirect, but not really complaining =), --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 15:52, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Murphy's law

You added this: Image:Murphys_Law_Poster.jpg a few days back. My concern is that the graphics image is much too small and doesn't expand into readability. Are you taking steps to get a larger image? Also, you cite no source for the image, only that it's popular. I'm not sure that will stand up, though it has the virtue of being on point for the article. The question is whether it comes from a copyrighted source. If so, the link ought to be given at least crediting the originator. Best regards // FrankB 13:37, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
