Derrick Johnson (October 1977- July 1, 2006) better known as Gangsta an American rap artist. Gangsta was born, raised and fatally shot in the Bronx neighborhood that were portrayed in his verses. Gangsta was well known for being a "gangsta" in the South Bronx. He was given the title Gangsta by peers in his neighborhood. He was an upcoming artist and had just released From My Block to Your Block before his untimely murder at the age of 29.
