History
Founded in 1914, the firm was known from the 1920s to the 1950s as Johnston, Thompson, Raymond & Mayer. After Albert E. Jenner became a partner in 1965, he established Jenner & Block's longstanding relationship representing General Dynamics. The name of the firm was changed to Raymond Mayer Jenner & Block in 1964 after Samuel W. Block became a name parter. In 1969, it was shortened to its present title.
