X2Go is a Remote Desktop solution for Linux, with clients for Linux, Windows and MACOSX. X2Go uses the NX-X11 Xserver for its remote desktop protocol, both client and server. X2Go can be used to access desktops on a PC, but its main use case is providing secure (by using ssh connections) standalone remote sessions (with no physical desktop attached). The server package must be installed on a Linux server. Client packages can be run on Linux, Windows, or MacOS.

It is open source software. The X2go project has recently been packaged for the Fedora community, and featured for Fedora version F20.
