Important Notice: Your 2013 Arbitration Committee Election vote

Greetings. Because you have already cast a vote for the 2013 Arbitration Committee Elections, I regret to inform you that due to a misconfiguration of the SecurePoll we've been forced to strike all votes and reset voting. This notice is to inform you that you will need to vote again if you want to be counted in the poll. The new poll is located at this link. You do not have to perform any additional actions other than voting again. If you have any questions, please direct them at the election commissioners. --For the Election Commissioners, v/r, TParis

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to New Right (UK) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

Er. I need your advice!

I'm not particularly experienced here at wikipedia, having only been what you might consider an active contributor less than two years. My particular interests do not include BLPs, but I have been troubled by this one, James C. Sharf, for a few days now since it came up while I was using STiki.

To me, it appears totally unsourced and promotional, and the chap is not properly notable enough. There also appears to be a COI editor involved at the moment. Believe it or not, I really would value any comment you may care to make. Thanks. Roxy the dog (resonate) 19:20, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

I'll take a look. --Holdek (talk) 22:55, 4 August 2014 (UTC)
First, I should note I'm not an advanced Wikipedian. While I've had an account for 10 years, there was a gap between 2008 and 2013 where I didn't edit at all. So, I just try to do my best and learn as I go along.
Anyways, it certainly looks like there is a significant COI issue in this article. As far as whether the article should exist at all, I've looked around, and while there is some mention of him on the web, there's not much. The article's only sources are an editorial on which he was one of several dozen co-signers, and what looks to be promotional material provided by his own firm. The "notable award" mentioned in the info box is legitimate, but not notable enough to warrant an article either.
Based on the promotional material cited, he appears to be an accomplished individual with some significant involvement in the area of cognitive testing in employment, but again, the article as it is just a puff piece and non-encyclopedic.
Personally, I would nominate it for deletion, or at least remove the COI and promotional content. Holdek (talk) 01:46, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Thank you. I feel more or less the same about this piece. It is late here, so I'll comment again in the morning, I'm not up to doing anything else today. -Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 02:18, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I've never done an AfD, and having spent the best part of the morning trying to figure out the process, I doubt I ever will! Do you want to deal with it? -Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 12:39, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
I just use Twinkle to handle a lot of it, but, no problem, done: Misplaced Pages:Articles_for_deletion/James_C._Sharf. --Holdek (talk) 06:33, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Great stuff. Thank you very much. I have supported your proposal. We will see what happens. -Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 10:15, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
Sure, glad to help. :) I hope it's successful. Holdek (talk) 18:21, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
@Roxy the dog: Success! Thanks for reaching out to collaborate. Holdek (talk) 16:46, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
It is ironic that Mr. Sharf edited the article a few hours ago. I'm pleased that our little collaboration had a good outcome. It makes me feel far better than our previous encounter did. Thanks very much. -Roxy the dog™ (resonate) 17:26, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
Same here. --Holdek (talk) 20:57, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
