Hi Gilliam,

At least this version of the introduction is correct rather than original research (nonsense). (In realtaion to the False Vacuum page)

About your (non)participation in the January 2012 SOPA vote

Hi Gilliam. I am Piotr Konieczny (User:Piotrus), you may know me as an active content creator (see my userpage), but I am also a professional researcher of Misplaced Pages. Recently I published a paper (downloadable here) on reasons editors participated in Misplaced Pages's biggest vote to date (January 2012 WP:SOPA). I am now developing a supplementary paper, which analyzes why many editors did not take part in that vote. Which is where you come in :) You are a highly active Wikipedian (66th to be exact), and you were active back during the January 2012 discussion/voting for the SOPA, yet you did not chose to participate in said vote. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me why was that so? For your convenience, I prepared a short survey at meta, which should not take more than a minute of your time. I would dearly appreciate you taking this minute; not only as a Misplaced Pages researcher but as a fellow content creator and concerned member of the community (I believe your answers may help us eventually improve our policies and thus, the project's governance). PS. If you chose to reply here (on your userpage), please WP:ECHO me. Thank you! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 23:24, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

Helping me to make my first wikipedia edit;

Hello I tried to add VERIFIABLE source content to "benevolent dictator" using google books and the name Barack Obama... but you seem to keep removing it?

If you could assist me in adding the name Barack Obama and showing me how to add the reference I would like that very much, as this is my first time trying to do a proper wiki edit.

Here is the book link; https://books.google.com/books?id=6oaGB7w_yX8C&pg=PA26&lpg=PA26&dq=barack+obama+benevolent+dictator&source=bl&ots=j_oSQiBlv1&sig=Li1hjbmilefFMXUzmCc73eYWS_U&hl=en&sa=X&ei=Ek7eVPX7Fc2VyASe_YKgCQ&ved=0CE8Q6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q=barack%20obama%20benevolent%20dictator&f=false

and the name Barack Obama should go in the first or last position of examples of names given for benevolent dictators.

thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.134.68.214 (talk) 19:37, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

That page doesn't clearly state that President Obama is a "benevolent dictator". Using the reference to state something it does not is Misplaced Pages:SYNTHESIS.– Gilliam (talk) 19:40, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Rollback use

Regarding it would appear that rollback has now been deployed for non-vandalism related purposes.Sladen (talk) 14:19, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

@Sladen: Thank you. The user has been warned.– Gilliam (talk) 14:24, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi. Please look at the edits that were actually made; they were full of spelling mistakes, even reference editing mistakes (which are now apparent (In 2013, Pascal was elected to the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. ywood Reporter|date= July 15, 2013 }}</ref>), since I have left the article as re-edited by Sladden, or Elinbury, whoever they are. I have also written to an administrator about the hysterical comment left on Pascal's talkpage, with a new legal threat. This is not the first time this has happened (prior legal threat, insult on my talkpage with a swearword, threats of trying to get me blocked, etc.). I hope someone puts an end to this harassment asap.Zigzig20s (talk) 14:28, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

@Zigzig20s: I don't wish to get involved in the dispute, but the Rollback feature must only be used in the case of obvious vandalism. In all other cases or if in doubt, you can manually revert or use the Undo function. Thanks.– Gilliam (talk) 14:34, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
It seems obvious to me, if you look at all the spelling mistakes, broken references, etc. Then I won't use it again. Hopefully User:CambridgeBayWeather (who had to protect the page in the past) will put an end to the harassment. The new legal threat is not acceptable. (I had even added the 'philanthropy' section--there's really no grounds for "libel" here.)Zigzig20s (talk) 14:39, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
I am not "edit-warring". I am being harassed and threatened. Anyway, I didn't ask for the rollerback and don't need it if we can't use it when appropriate.Zigzig20s (talk) 14:43, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
If you "don't need it" it's probably in your best interest not to have it.– Gilliam (talk) 14:44, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Please don't give it to people who don't ask for it and then take it away when they are being harassed and threatened. Don't make the harassment worse. Having new edits with spelling mistakes will certainly make Misplaced Pages look very serious. Have a nice day.Zigzig20s (talk) 14:47, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
The new edits are also not in line with the references. The countless newspaper articles do not say she was fired because of North Korea; but because she suggested President Obama would enjoy films about slavery, because he is black. The content of the new edits are lies.Zigzig20s (talk) 14:52, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
As an admin I don't have any more say over the content of an article than you do. Sorry but tbh Amy Pascal is not a topic I'm at all interested in.– Gilliam (talk) 14:57, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Will you do nothing about the legal threat? Hopefully others will.Zigzig20s (talk) 14:58, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
You can report harrassment at WP:ANI.– Gilliam (talk) 15:00, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
