Teahouse talkback: you've got messages!

Hello, CosmicEmperor. Your question has been answered at the Teahouse Q&A board. Feel free to reply there!

Some bubble tea for you!

The red heart at the top of user pages make you able to give some wiki love. It can be food, barnstars, kitten or even your own design. When the food thing started I do not know. Probably pretty early just like the barnstar thing started pretty early. I thought this was an easier answer to show you instead of posting back at the teahouse. Voting for best image

If you click on the voting and it does not work. Then it might be your browser or you using an add-on that makes it not work. Have you tried a different browser that might fix the problem. If not you can always post a question at the teahouse again or the technical helpdesk I guess. Good luck at least. NathanWubs (talk) 20:17, 27 January 2015 (UTC)

{{helpme}}

When i try to revert/undo some old edits , the message appears that The edit could not be undone due to conflicting intermediate edits; if you wish to undo the change, it must be done manually. But I have seen other editors have no problem in reverting old edits . How do they do that .

You can see this edit from the page Baby(2015 film)

(cur | prev) 03:28, 30 January 2015‎ Vaibhav.times (talk | contribs)‎ . . (17,241 bytes) (+620)‎ . . (Undid revision 644719523 by 112.79.39.165 (talk)- Valid Source and if you want to discuss on talk page) (undo | thank)

The user was able to revert an old edit.--Frost The World (talk) 04:17, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

An undo is just a type of revert – a very limited form. A manual revert is done by going to a page history clicking on a revision, clicking edit this page, and then saving. See Help:Reverting. It is something of an unfortunate byproduct of the undo button (which is actually a rather recent feature), that I've noticed people not knowing how to do actual reverts.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 04:28, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

I know that a page can be created if it meets notability standards . But as I am a new user I am not aware of every rules . Can I find anybody who can create page for me . I can give him references. Its upto him how he creates and designs the page. Pallavi Purakayastha Murder Case was widely discussed in Indian media . Every details of the case was published in almost all leading newspapers and all English and Hindi news channels gave huge coverage to the murder case . There were lots of weekend columns where female writers discussed about safety of women in India after Pallavi was murdered by her watchman . As it happened in a posh locality and the witness was also dead due to natural reasons , the case got coverage . Even the conviction , sentence of the accused got coverage after few years of the murder. I am 100% confident that there must be a Wiki page about this Murder.--CosmicEmperor (talk) 10:16, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi CosmicEmperor, if you want to create an article about this murder case, I would highly suggest going through the Article Wizard. This will create a draft, which will be reviewed by other Wikipedians to ensure that it is a high-quality article. It will also not be deleted unless there are copyright violations. If you do not want to write the article yourself, then I suggest going to the Requested Articles page, where you can put your references and the reason why you think it should be written. A volunteer may decide to write the article if it looks promising. If you want more help, stop by the Teahouse, the IRC channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Every Administrator has their unique signature . the wiki page for signatures don't tell anybody how to create unique signature . There is a female editor who helped others to create signatures . I forgot her name. can I find anybody who will create unique signature for me. --CosmicEmperor (talk) 06:16, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

The page explaining customization of signatures is WP:Signature. If you have specific questions on signature customization I'll gladly help, but in general, being a counterexample to the "every administrator has a custom signature" rule I consider a custom signature a very low priority and would advise you not to bother with something like that. It confers no benefits to editing. Huon (talk) 13:26, 1 March 2015 (UTC)

Reverts on 2002 Gujarat riots Comment

Hi, regarding this revert , I am sorry if my reverts were irksome. It happens to all of us when we start with Misplaced Pages. But I gave a link to wp:undue, the policy under which I have deleted your addition, which you are required to read and follow. Ignoring policies can bring you sanctions. Your source said this was the 933rd death. Was there anything that makes you talk about this particular death as opposed to all others in this article? Is this being given an example of something you are trying to say? Without any such context, this is misplaced.

Notice that, in your zeal, you have also undone the improvements I made to your second addition. If I were, I would expand on that one. Cheers, Kautilya3 (talk) 16:41, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
