Can any kind Wikipedian give me general advice on filing AE's and ANI's when you yourself have ways in which people might attack you -- so that the decision does not focus 100% on you, while completely ignoring the valid complaints that you made? Handpolk (talk) 07:04, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
- Please note, if you think WP:BOOMERANG answers my question, it does not. That essay promotes this type of outcome. Handpolk (talk) 07:06, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
Boomerang discussion at Help Desk
FYI, the Help Desk is designed for how-to questions about using and editing Misplaced Pages, not discussion about fairness in community processes. I doubt you would have gotten any more satisfaction in a more suitable venue such as Misplaced Pages:Village pump (miscellaneous) — it likely would be seen as WP:FORUMSHOP because of your personal stake in the issue. But the discussion might not have been closed after only 9 hours, as "Nothing can be done here, no more to discuss." Step One is always using the right venue. My take is that you should have been immediately directed to a better venue, but many others see things differently. Best,―Mandruss ☎ 11:24, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. I couldn't find a venue that seemed like a perfect fit. And FYI that was essentially closed at my request. I am the one who said there was nothing more to discuss. Handpolk (talk) 12:09, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
