How was I vandalizing Misplaced Pages?

I was adding information to the article. How is it vandalism? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SuplexCity1 (talkcontribs) 02:27, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Making edits such as 1, 2, and 3 is considered vandalism. — JJMC89 03:35, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Regarding the Allianz Australia Deletion

I recently deleted all content on Allianz Australia as I had accidentally published it instead of just drafting and formatting. I will be sure to use the sandbox in future. The content that has been drafted will be passed over to Allianz Australia for their PR Manager to upload instead, in order to avoid claims of copyright infringement. MikiClarke (talk) 02:25, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

@MikiClarke Ok. If you want the page deleted you can replace the contents with {{db-g7|rationale=YourDeletionRationale}}. — JJMC89 02:36, 7 May 2015 (UTC)

Ken Zazpi

I have seen that my article has been deleted (Ken Zazpi). I received a speedy deletion message and since I am new in Misplaced Pages I did not know how to fix it. I was recommended to contact you to please, consider my article as relevant since it exists such as in Spanish Misplaced Pages es:Ken Zazpi and in other languages as: eu:Ken Zazpi, de:Ken Zazpi, it:Ken Zazpi, pt:Ken Zazpi — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miriam.nh (talkcontribs) 06:33, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Your article was deleted for not having any credible claim of significance or importance, see WP:CSD A7. Having a page on another Misplaced Pages has nothing to do with the article on en:WP. I suggest reading WP:MUSIC. Also, deletion is handled by administrators; I only nominated it for deletion. The article was deleted by JamesBWatson. — JJMC89 00:39, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Your unconstructive edit.

On me before you, every time you edit, one word becomes all messed up. Can you please stop that? ThatKongregateGuy (talk) 22:01, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

The edit is not unconstructive. Just because a single word gets messed up during an edit doesn't mean the edit is unconstructive or vandalism. — JJMC89 22:04, 30 May 2015 (UTC)

Your article tagging

Please be more careful tagging articles. You tagged at least two articles as un-categorized, Nallalam and Cheruvannur-Nallalam, which were indeed categorized. Please note that sometimes when the list of new pages says something is un-categorized, un-referenced and orphan etc. it is incorrect. Please check each article before tagging. Thank you. Jbh 00:11, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

@Jbhunley: Apologies. I'll be more careful. — JJMC89 00:28, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
No harm done, we all make mistakes - me as frequently as anyone else. Enjoy editing Misplaced Pages! Cheers. Jbh 04:18, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Thank you!

Thanks for correcting how the reference links were displayed in that entry. I kept reading the help guidelines but couldn't seem to get it right. I'm still getting the hang of how things work. SamWatson88 (talk) 06:02, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Hello,

Thank you for your work and your contribution to Misplaced Pages

I sent you an e-mail related to speed deletion you have requested. I did some changes in article hopping it will be enough to prevent deletion. Could you please check the mail and my article?

I have not received an email from you. — JJMC89 20:54, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

No worries. — JJMC89 00:11, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
Disabled that option on my Xorg config. Shouldn't happen again. --Macbookair3140 00:14, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

Copyvios introduced by CalvinBeza

Thank you for tagging this article and notifying the editor. If in the future, you encounter such copyvios, please consider checking into the editor's contributions. A good way is to spot-check his major edits to see if there are other copyvios. If you see some, please notify me or another admin so we can stop it before it goes any further. Best wishes, and good work noticing that copyvio. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 18:15, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

I nominated a couple of the editor's articles for speedy deletion; that's how I found that copyvio. In the future, should I drop a message on an admin's talk page, or is there a noticeboard I should use? Thanks. — JJMC89 19:06, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the speedy noms. Good work. :) Sure, in future, let me know or if you like, Misplaced Pages:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents or Misplaced Pages:Copyright problems. I am a good choice if you suspect it is the same person because I am familiar with the case. Many thanks again. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 19:28, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Bots

You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.

What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.

This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.

Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Misplaced Pages:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.

Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script. V.K. Bali

Hii,

I have noticed your edit in the article I have created just now named V.K. Bali. Please join me to improve it. DreamSparrow 19:05, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the arrangement of references. I have added some more, please arrange that too. Am sorry am not familiar with the method you use to arrange the reference. DreamSparrow 19:41, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Link rot-useful tool

Hello, I noticed you had added a linkrot tag to an article. Have you heard of reFill? It cleans up bare URL referencing quite nicely, with no hassle. I tend to use it on articles and just add linkrot tags if there are links it can't fix (rare). After all the goal is good articles, not templated ones. Happy editing! Happy Squirrel (talk) 19:11, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

I do use reFill. — JJMC89 20:39, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
