A useful article deleted by you...

I'm a writer and I do work for 2000AD and the Judge Dredd Megazine, which makes an easy, handy, editable History Of Mega-City One very useful to me in my work as a quick reference source.

So can I have it back?

I don't know who created it originally, but they might well have done me a huge favour and saved me trawling through a bunch of old boxes for simple info or asking endless questions on the 2000AD message boards. It might not have been as useful as that, but I'll never know now, thanks to your efforts.

I realise that you're very proud of deleting things and it's a very big deal to you, but I'd really appreciate it if you could undelete that one. Cheers.

(I'm not giving you my name because I've actually got my own Wiki entry which is also very useful to me. And I'm a little worried you might tear that one down as well in your lust for deletion. Unless you're going to go on a pogrom against all British comic writers listed on the Wiki, I reckon I'm fairly safe so long as I don't give you any clues. I also enjoy long walks on the beach, unicorns, and poetry.)

I want to ask you about AOL. As I have been reverting some vandalisms on article, I have recognized many IP ID. I think that same IP user is shared by other user. If I become an administrator, Should I block AOL if IP vandalized article? or Like If same IP demonstrates good behaviour, and provides good information on article, it will be good to any IP that is not changed. You made a deciding change to the blocking structure surrounding zigzogger, ziglz0gger, Big.P, and kitteneatkitten. FloNight seeks more discussion on the matter, and I'm not an admin. I went and defended zigzogger after seeing a checkuser result in the face of prior assumptions made surrounding zigzo.. vs zigz0..., but you should go there and talk to FloNight, because there's not much else I can say about the issue. Global Reserve Bank

Hi. I have, with a bit of digging, uncovered a lot of information that supports the un-deletion of the Global Reserve Bank entry. It is, apparently, a real plan that has a lot of mentions in various mainstream and reputable publications. Here are some links:

Now..Does this bank exist yet? No, but Misplaced Pages covers many things that don't exist yet..hell, there is even an entry for the New World Order (try and prove THAT exists). The only problem is, none of the links dug up prove a thing. I mean, did TruthCrusader actually bother to read them, or did he, as I suspect, pull out sites that happen to have the text string "Global Reserve Bank" in them? The first link is a self-reference, since it's the homepage of the subject of the article, so is automatically not a reliable source. The others are sites that use "Global Reserve Bank" in an entirely different sense than the deleted article, as economists's hypothetical global version of the US Federal Reserve Bank. Provide some actual reliable sources of the actual concept being discussed, and maybe he has a shot at convincing anyone. Hello, a user has decided that he does not want us placing hockey stubs on Misplaced Pages to expand later into teams. In particular he doesn't like Junior teams... David Jewell

Why did you delete my article on David Jewell, written a few hours ago? I realise now I was actually incorrect in my citation of sources (should have been "The Times" rather than "The Daily Telegraph"), but it was otherwise a perfectly accurate article. It wasn't a copyright violation, as I clearly (though incorrectly) credited my external sources, and marked quotations from the source as such. It also wasn't a lie, vandalism, or an article on an unremarkable person (Jewell was important enough to have an article in a major broadsheet newspaper). Just because the source was an obituary doesn't make the article an obituary or a memorial. It was a valid biography of a man who was prominent in the field of English independent schools. The Protomen

I would like to ask why the Protomen's article has been determined fit for deletion, considering that, during the argument (to prevent such), evidence was provided in their favor. For the most part, those against the article's permanent place in Misplaced Pages simply quoted rules without defending their arguments. Considering that the discussion itself had a foreword about how votes do not matter, but the debating does, the decision to delete the article seems to completely contradict that. More people voted for Delete than they did Keep, yet more of those who suggested keeping the article were capable of providing reasons that fit in with WP:MUSIC. Why, then, was the decision made to delete the article? Oh, I see, now. I closed the first discussion, which was 4 deletes and 1 keep. Looks to me that it's still non-notable. In the future, if you're referencing something, it's usual to reference what the person was involved in.  RasputinAXP  c 18:52, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Please forgive me for continuing to ask questions here, but I do not fully understand why they are considered non-notable. I've read WP:MUSIC, and have provided evidence that explains why the Protomen do meet the requirements (have been printed in more than one magazine with millions of readers, have been broadcast on a radio station for more than a half hour, have sold out of several album pressings, have toured across part of the US, have fans all over the world, et cetera). I see you've speedied this article. However, the reference _is_ genuine; it appears in the director's commentary on the DVD, and in the book "The Art Of The Lion King"; it may also appear in other canonical sources. The Steven Gao Controversy

Personally, I thought the redirect was a grand idea on this article. The main editor sent me a "can't we vote on this" type of message, at which point I figured AfD was the appropriate forum for the article's future. New to Misplaced Pages

Good Day, Mr. Leyden I can understand if you delete redundant pages to subjects. I will even go so far as to apologize to ALL USERS for my having posted redundancies. Forgive my inexperience, but it seems you have performed over 3000 deletions! (gasp)

Have any of YOUR articles been deleted? Do you write articles, or just delete everyone elses?

If it is your intention to delete every reference to a subject you deem "non-notable" you will, in effect, be placing a limit on the nature of "open source" knowledge that this site offers!

What some may consider a matter of the utmost importance, may be trivial in your eyes, and is carelessly deleted. Understand the nature of Karma dictates that when you least expect it, similar practices may be visited upon you.

As a responsible administrator, you must resist the urge to impose your personal tastes, while performing your responsibilities.

YOU ALL...have my apologies for any redundancies, however. Misplaced Pages is fast becoming my 1st reference for a great deal of "random info". In the future I will be posting information that I feel others may find useful. I can only hope it is treated with some degree of respect.

An administrator's job is to be a janitor. I am cleaning up after you and everyone else. For a list of articles I've worked on, see User:RasputinAXP/Pages I Have Worked On. Karma is as karma does. Your addition of so-called "random info" is deleted because you offer no single claim to notability or noteriety other than "this person exists." You also created it over several pages (what you refer to as "redundancies") without understanding how Misplaced Pages works.

The number of deletions I have made is, overall, irrelevant. I delete things because they have been tagged and when they're applicable deletions, I perform them. There's a large number of things that I remove deletion tags from. As you can see from my contribution list as well as the Pages I Have Worked On link above, I do far more than delete. In the future, please understand that respect is given to you when you give respect to others. If Karma is to be visited on my for deleting every small band who wants the world to know who they are, every student that gets bored in class or every spammer who wants to boost their Google Pagerank, then so be it. Podlounge listing deleted

I noticed you had deleted the "PodLounge" entry...

this entry detailed information regarding the podlounge (one of the largest podcasting directories on the web) and was intended to be informative and within the guidelines

why is it that other directory entries such as podcast pickle still remain? (fwiw I have nothing against the podcast pickle listing remaining - however Im unsure as to why the podlounge listing was removed?)

It was marked as a prod deletion, meaning it was marked as "If there are no protests, this will be deleted in five days." I was just cleaning out the Prods for the day. I also agreed that with an Alexa rating of about 600,000, it was a non-notable site. That said, because it's a prod, if you're contesting it I'll undelete it and move it to an Articles for Deletion discussion instead.  RasputinAXP  c 11:36, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

I am not quite sure how it is that you can expect others to notify you about changes made to pages you've written on your talk page.

Any case, perhaps you can integrate the little bit into the Avenue Q article. It would probably fit in there. Article needing deletion, or something...

Have a look at the article Bose Headphone Family... it's not an article but rather a big long ad, obviously created by someone that works at Bose. I think this quote from the last section says it all: "Bose's commitment to excellent customer relations has been longstanding and their family of headphones is no diffrent. Year after year Bose has been addressing customer problems/concerns and meeting customer wishes, and are expected to address remaining concerns and/or wishes in the future. Procedure inquiry

Hello there, I realise you are on a wikibreak, its not an urgent query, but regarding this deletion debate, should I assume that the same result would have been reached in a similar debate over each of the band's albums? Their discography was rather exhaustively covered by one rather diligent editor, and while I understand that the albums themselves are not considered notable in themselves, there is a lot of information spread over all the articles, which if all lumped into the band article would I feel prove rather unwieldy. I'm happy for that, if everyone else is, just as long as its consistent. I missed the deletion debate, otherwise obviously I would have raised these points there, but how should I proceed from here do you reckon (I have kind of taken it upon myself to upkeep the Nuclear Death article, since the contributing editor, while dedicated, makes various and frequent format and style errors and I feel paternal towards their contributions)? Honestly, I'm of the opinion that Misplaced Pages is not Allmusic. Ultimately, I understand others feel differently about it. My best suggestion is to create List of Nuclear Death albums and put them all there, with a Main article: List of Nuclear Death albums in Nuclear Death. That's pretty much the way it's been broken out with other articles I've worked on, such as Baritone -> List of baritone roles and List of famous baritones, Jack Kerouac -> Jack Kerouac in popular culture and other such breakouts.
