Named after a character from Star treck. The band was formed in 1986 by, the lead singer/songwriter Carol Decker, and Ron Rodgers.
Their first hit was the (1986) single. "Heart and soul" which reached No4 in both the UK and US charts. This was follwed by their biggest 1987 hit, the ballad "China in your hand" which spent five weeks at number one in the UK charts.
They had a number of smaller hits, including the singles "Valentine" "Intimate strangers" "Monkey House" "Secret Garden".
Their 1987 album "Bridge of Spies" won the best album and single award at the 1988 British record industry awards, and was a best seller.
