Pradip Somasundaran
This is a message to all Category:Kerala Wikipedians
I want your opinion on this particular person Pradip Somasundaran. He claims to be a famous singer in Kerala. Now being a Malayalee, I have not heard of this person before, so I wonder whether or not you have heard of him before and set this issue straight. If so, then please let your opinion be counted at Misplaced Pages:Articles for deletion/Pradip Somasundaran. Please note that by voicing your opinion as a Malayalee/Keralite will add more weight to your words.
Many Thanks --Ageo020 21:42, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- Hello Bharatveer. Like I said on the AfD, I really havent heard of him before. Perhaps it is because all the movies he has sung in are old ones. Also, there are so many "all-India" competitions happening all the time on different television channels. Winning such a competition does not make him notable enough to deserve his own page.
Now Pradeeps has sung in nearly 5 movies. That is more than enough to merit an article on wiki. However, he really isnt all that famous, IMO. Hence my usage of the word "quasi". -- thunderboltz13:09, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

- stop harassing me. I am not anti-Hindu or anti-Indian: I have no interest in Indian politics, and only limited interest in contemporary Hinduism. I would just like to contribute to articles on ancient Indo-Iranian texts in peace, and in accordance with academic mainstream. If you think that scholarly discussion of the history of India and Hinduism is "anti-Indian" or "anti-Hindu", that is entirely your own problem. dab (ᛏ) 14:21, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Witzel runs away from scholarly discussion. Look at the UMASS Indic studies meeting. Scholars are "appalled at the level of visceral feelings Witzel holds against some of the scholars in the field". Witzel IS ANTI-Hindu and ANTI-Indian. Bakaman%% 15:32, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Witzel is fiercly anti-Hindutva. If you think that this equals "anti-Hindu" or even "anti-India" (so "India" equals crackpot nationalism now??), you have a seriously distorted view. That's like saying being anti-Bush is being anti-American (which has been said, of course, same old "who isn't for us is against us"). Why are you bringing up Witzel? I didn't refer to the Witzel article. I am not Witzel, and I have never met him. I am not keeping you from documenting the controversies surrounding the man, as long as you stay fair and within WP:BLP. A man may have a bad temper and political tendencies, and still be a brilliant scholar, and I am protecting the Witzel article against all-too transparent attempts at conflating politics and scholarship.
- so don't change the subject. I am asking me to stop smearing me around Misplaced Pages. If you continue your unsavoury comments about me, I will ask to have you blocked. So behave, and go write some articles (preferably about topics you are familiar with) dab (ᛏ) 16:40, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi Bharathveer, Please go through the discussion of the Article Yesudas. jyothish 08:15, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Block warning
Your belief that dab is not allowed to remove your comments from his talkpage is mistaken. I've no idea where it comes from, but it's quite wrong. He can remove anything he wants, it is you who are not allowed to edit war to reinsert your comments. You should never restore a comment to a user talkpage which the user in question has removed, unless it's a valid vandalism warning (a far cry from a case like this). Since many of your comments have been harassing and abusive, even threatening, and since dab has requested you to stop posting to his page, I'm formally warning you: don't post to his page again or you'll be blocked. Bishonen | talk 11:37, 8 August 2006 (UTC).
- I am surprised you are an admin here. For Your Information From Etiquette "Actively erasing non-harassing personal messages without replying (if a reply would be appropriate or polite) will probably be interpreted as hostile. In the past, this kind of behavior has been viewed as uncivil, and this can become an issue in arbitration or other formal proceedings. Redirecting your user talk page to another page (whether meant as a joke or intended to be offensive or to send a "go away" message), except in the case of redirecting from one account to another when both are yours, can also be considered a hostile act. However, reverting such removals or redirects is not proper and may result in a block for edit warring. If someone removes your comments without answering, consider moving on or dispute resolution. This is especially true for vandalism warnings".Bharatveer 11:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- So am I sometimes, but life is full of surprises. The etiquette guideline you quote refers to erasing non-harassing personal messages. See, that doesn't happen very often. It's inherently unlikely that people will want to erase civil messages, and it's not what dab was doing. Dab has not contacted me, his page merely happens to be on my watchlist, so I'm not especially well informed about the conflict between you; but then I don't have to be to see that your messages on his page are rude, threatening and abusive, in other words harassing. I would like to endorse the advice you quote from the etiquette page: "If someone removes your comments without answering, consider moving on". Bishonen | talk 12:08, 8 August 2006 (UTC).
WP:3RR block
You have been blocked for 24 hours. I just noticed you reverted four times in less than an hour (!) at Sanskrit this morning (UTC), changing the word "archaic" to ancient".
(Your opponent CrCulver reverted three times: that's edit warring too, and unconstructive, but it's not a 3RR violation.)
Edit wars are seen as harmful. Please note that the WP:3RR rule is an electric fence, not an entitlement to revert three times a day. I will consider shortening the block if you undertake to edit less confrontationally. Bishonen | talk 14:36, 8 August 2006 (UTC).
Unfair?
- Misplaced Pages policy clearly states:
- In the cases where multiple parties violate the rule, administrators should treat all sides equally.
Why was only one party blocked? I think that both of them should have gone away with it with a warning for today, but blocking only one party is very unfair. --Rayfield 14:55, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for listing these diffs for me. I'm not unfair, only human: I missed one. Bishonen | talk 16:33, 8 August 2006 (UTC).
To all parties: calm down
The disputes that have occured recently are very unproductive. Please focus on writing articles, not on endless and needless discussions. --Rayfield 14:59, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
extremely Biased blocking By bishonen
I knew it was coming .But i did not realise it would be on such a flimsy charge. The User Bishonen made this block obviously under the influence of dab .(pls see talk).
As another user Rayfield correctly pointed out when both me and User :Crculver made the same number of reverts, bishonen who is supposed to act in an unbiased manner blocked only me; which is against the wikipedia guidelines. For anyone who is following this block; It will be interesting to read the User: crcluver's comment at his last revert * - "In a choice between "oldest" and "ancient", "ancient" would be seen as POV as it suggests prestige. Note that after this we would both get smacked for 3RR" .
This will clearly show the biased manner of Bishonen. One should also look at the way how he tried to justify not blocking the other user.Bharatveer 16:01, 8 August 2006 (UTC)Bharatveer 16:03, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Not only was his block justified, but if you continue to harrass Dbachmann upon your return, you will simply be blocked for longer. --InShaneee 17:52, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Inshanee, Do you have any valid arguments that BISHONEN acted in an unbiased manner in this blocking? Or you merely came here to abuse me as requested by User Timothy Usher.
- Pls see
- talk page-User Inshanee
- Inshanee is nothing but the latest of the crony invited by dab & Co .I am really surprised wikipedia allows this kind of systematic abuse. The most funny thing is all the three are wiki administrators!!!!!Bharatveer 19:17, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Please all calm down again. Lets all forget these petty old disputes and move on. --RF 19:24, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- And consider this your last warning. The above abusive comments are not accpetable, and will not be tolerated. --InShaneee 19:51, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Well, I don't think it is a good idea to say such things - simply to point out the irregularities and point them out and ask for them to be rectified. If there is repeated irregularites then surely the administrator will gain a bad reputation without the need for another to claim impropriety immediately. Also I can see that you did do four reverts, but it seems that Crcluver started the revert war first - he breached the 3RR first so it was not a good idea to respond and break it also. But then it seems he reverted first and last and had five reverts, so I will change his block to 30 hours to make things proportional. Blnguyen | rant-line 01:10, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
