Shingebis' totem the loon, was always found on Onway Lake or Koo-Wah'ing before an Ordeal. In 1993 Shingebis merged with Amiskwi #505 and Passaquo #539 to form Nanepashemet Lodge #158.
Shingebis Lodge is named after the famous Native American, Shingebis who also appears in Henry Longfellow's Hiawatha.
