One Other Change

  • Prominent Search, Based On Usage Rhetoric (other changes are great):
    • The very first item besides the name of the Misplaced Pages webpage (and globe graphic) that should be evident is the Search Box.
    • In addition, consider that Nouveau-Users (everyone's parents) are used to seeing Only One Thing In AOL (et.al): a search text box.
    • Since this one is not across the entire top of the page (recommended as well) or solely prominent (Google, et.al), it maybe it needs to be in a shaded box, in bold, or with a descriptive moniker.
    • Can someone can also fix the Box Class right border? It's not the width=17...

Reasons behind the changes (optimal version)

  • Navigation box -- repurposed as a reader-oriented set of browsing links
  • Interact box -- created, to seperate the non-encyclopedic sidebar links
  • Toolbox --
    • separated the contextual/local links (top) from the fixed/global links (bottom)
    • moved the Recent changes link to here, from the navigation box, as contextually appropriate.
    • reorganised to place "Cite this article" and other reader-oriented links at the top. (a straight reversal of current ordering)

Toolbox variants - for user pages, and other instances

On user pages ("Cite this article" is replaced by "User contributions" and "E-mail this user")

Toolbox

On special pages

and so on, for the "Block user", "rss atom", and "trackbacklink" links.
