IP vandal

IP 184.54.175.170 has vanalized Korey Stringer several times today. I reverted them all in one and gave them a one and only warning. Do as you see fit. lol. CrashUnderride 01:27, 12 October 2016 (UTC)

Crash. That seems appropriate. They are kid-type edits done in a four-minute burst rather than anything more disturbing or protracted, and as long as there is no repetition, your warning should be enough. Misplaced query by Puneet3210

Puneet3210 (talk) 07:01, 13 October 2016 (UTC) Hi, I am new to Wiki and I have absolutely no idea if this is how it works. My question is on a page deletion. Please see "06:49, 25 June 2016 Jimfbleak (talk | contribs) deleted page CRISIL (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)". CRISIL is one among India'a largest companies that employs over 5000 people. I believe, there should be a page on this company. You may delete the content that looks promotional. Thanks samtar. Puneet3210, I note your comment. Since another admin recently thought it was fixable, I've restored the article for now. I've removed all unsourced text and removed much of the company-sourced promo. I've put the financial stuff in the text, since that's what makes it notable. I'm watching the page now, and if my edits are reverted or the spam is restored, I'll reconsider the restoration, thanks Jimfbleak (talk) 14:11, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Samahangmakasining, not possible, the article was a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Misplaced Pages, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. Artvip, there is nothing to stop you rewriting, although you should make sure that it meets the notability criteria linked below or it will be deleted again

• I suggest you initially write it as a draft at Draft:Postmodern-Narrationism
• you will need to provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those closely linked to the subject, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what or interviewing proponents.
• write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Stick to facts, not opinions, beware of WP:OR
• Write in your own words only. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Misplaced Pages, as outlined in this policy.

Bee-eater

It's an article I meant to get to featured myself. So I'm happy to claw out some time to help write and pick over it. I've actually spent a lot of time training as a copy-editor in real life recently so I can certainly help in that regard. Sabine's Sunbird, that's great! I want to start adding stuff on predators and parasites, but otherwise I think it's a matter of polishing more than content. The trick with these family articles is, I think, making them comprehensive without getting too bogged down in detail. I have the Fry book and an HBW subscription. Just got back from Ethiopia, where I picked up a number of Horn of Africa and local endemics. I wasn't there for birding and basically just wetted my appetite, but it was fun. Ethiopia is experiencing some f=difficulties at the moment, best to let it settle down and become safer again. I'd suggest South Africa as a non-birder friendly country - the wine country around Cape Town is divine! And Cas, I got a few but not many new ones, my camera broke.
