Bee-eater
It's an article I meant to get to featured myself. So I'm happy to claw out some time to help write and pick over it. I've actually spent a lot of time training as a copy-editor in real life recently so I can certainly help in that regard. Hell, I need something to help pull me back in here, there is plenty that needs doing still. Sabine's Sunbird talk 05:37, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Sabine's Sunbird, that's great! I want to start adding stuff on predators and parasites, but otherwise I think it's a matter of polishing more than content. The trick with these family articles is, I think, making them comprehensive without getting too bogged down in detail. I have the Fry book and an HBW subscription. I went to see a Siberian Accentor yesterday, amazing bird, made the nationals Jimfbleak (talk) 05:53, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Just got back from Ethiopia, where I picked up a number of Horn of Africa and local endemics. I wasn't there for birding and basically just wetted my appetite, but it was fun. Finally saw a Red-billed Chough, a bird I could never find in North wales! Sabine's Sunbird talk 06:09, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Wow x 2 to newspapers and Ethiopia! @Sabine's Sunbird: did you take any photos of birds in Ethiopia? Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 09:42, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- This spring I watched European bee-eaters nesting behind a beach in Corsica. They are beautiful birds and the sight helped persuade my wife that birds are interesting. Aa77zz (talk) 10:10, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Sabine's Sunbird:, Ethiopia sounds great, although I don't think I'll be able to talk my wife into it, Mexico was a hard sell. Aa77zz, yes, all bee-eaters are fabulous to see. I was "guided" to this topic by my wife's insistence that I do something less boring than a rock pipit as the next FAC! Jimfbleak (talk) 13:37, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Ethiopia is experiencing some f=difficulties at the moment, best to let it settle down and become safer again. I'd suggest South Africa as a non-birder friendly country - the wine country around Cape Town is divine! And Cas, I got a few but not many new ones, my camera broke. Sabine's Sunbird talk 16:52, 16 October 2016 (UTC)
- Def some new rules there. Approve of no inline in lead, but no links to countries? Interesting. Happy to keep discussions to talk page of article. Sabine's Sunbird talk 06:07, 17 October 2016 (UTC)

Need your opinion
If you'd take a look here and see what needs to be done. He clearly violated WP:PA numerous times. CrashUnderride 05:26, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
- Crash, I agree that the behaviour is inappropriate; I get the impression this is a kid, with the "he started it" argument on his talk page, the aggressive "I'll do want I want" approach and the silly refusal to sign his messages, but that's no excuse. He's been warned by experienced user Jim1138 and I've followed that up with what I hope is a gently phrased comment that nevertheless makes it clear that I'll block his account if necessary. Let's see if that works, if not, well, he's been warned... Jimfbleak (talk) 05:55, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you, I really appreciate it. CrashUnderride 05:58, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
Company promotion
Hi Jim, I just created a new page. I am new to wikipedia, so I admit that something could have gone wrong. I saw you just deleted the page I created. It took me a bit of time to put it together as I'm not a native english speaker. Could you reasonably explain me why you deleted a page from an existing record label that helps new emerging acts? Noise Praise records is a London-based independent record label, active since 2012. We are planning to release our 8th EP by the end of the year. For the last 5 years we've been involved in scheduling events in cinemas all over London and Antwerp, The Caulfield Beats' music have been premiered on Dazed and Confused and Boiler Room.. Is that not enough for having a wiki page? What should we do then? I reckon that some suggestions on the content of my page might be necessary, but to remove the page is extremely unfair and denotes a lack of investigation (I put links on the page you deleted, if you just clicked on one of the links, you could have discovered that a website really exists). Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks a lot. Best regards. NicoNoisePraise (talk) 08:56, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
