Gay Coat of Arms

Gay (Template:Lang-ru, IPA:/ɡaɪ/) is a town in Orenburg Oblast, Russia, located 330 km south of Orenburg at 51°28′00″N 58°27′00″E / 51.46667°N 58.45000°E / 51.46667; 58.45000Invalid arguments have been passed to the {{#coordinates:}} function. It is the administrative center of Gaysky District. Population: 41,100 (2005 est.); 41,621 (2002 Census); 41,668 (1989 Census).

Gay was founded in 1959 as an industrial settlement. Urban-type settlement status was granted to it in 1965, and town status in 1979.
