Concept

Sometimes, an otherwise good contributor loses his or her cool and judgment related to a single article or topic. In such a case, it may be best for the encyclopedia if said person ceases editing said topic for a while. This is called "community probation", as opposed to a "community ban" where the community simply decides the encyclopedia is better off without the user entirely. Probations generally have a time limit, and violating probation generally results in a block of some sort.

There is no strict formal process regarding community probation. Probations are proposed and discussed on the admin noticeboard, and logged here for convenience since said noticeboard has a rather large mailflow. Probation should probably not be imposed by just a single admin, and can be appealed to the admin noticeboard, or if necessary, to the ArbCom. This page is just a log, and is not meant for discussion of any sort.
